  • That's What They Want You To Think MASH UP || JS023

    09/08/2016 Duration: 02h02min

    Before you read further, make sure that your listening device isn't bugged. Ever since Wikileaks exposed what a chill show this is, we've been monitored by several world leaders, in addition to other top secret organizations. Today's episode really ups the ante too, as we've got a crossover program with That's What They Want You To Think. Conspiracy theorists / curious little boy toys, Dan Friesen and Marty DeRosa join me for a frank discussion regarding several well known conspiracies that revolve around the music industry. Life and death hoaxes, secret societies, reptilian lizard overlords, phony impostors and more. I fear that I've already said too much and exposed you to the truth. If it's at all possible, I would suggest listening to this episode a good 500 yards below sea level. It's the only way to know that they're not watching and listening...         The flavor of jam this Tuesday is raspberry. I repeat, the flavor of jam this Tuesday is raspberry.           If you are still reading this: send help!

A real twofer Tuesday, if you will. We start to have a real intimate moment until super producer Dan steps in and essentially takes a dump in my mouth. Up next, we welcome to the show Boston Hardcore LEGEND Tommy Crowbar of the band Street Justice. We hear about Tommy's bucket list of murder and the merits of throwing a boot party. We also listen to the Gorilla Biscuits self titled 7" because it rules. You're gonna like the way this episode makes you feel, I guarantee it. For another serving of jam sammies dig through the digital crate that is our back catalog, subscribe and like us on facebook, even though its worse than anything found on the dark web. • Zach Reinert || JS021

    26/07/2016 Duration: 01h12min

    Prepare yourself, as you're likely to catch a second hand Rocky Mountain High on today's episode of Jam Sandwich! My guest today is Denver comedian Zach Reinert and he's tastier than ice cream edibles found within his hometown's finer dispensaries. I've known Zach for a number of years now and his one liner game is stronger than Magnús Ver Magnússon flipping giant tires. Take a peek behind the curtain of his madness as we discuss things like horror films and how root beer gets made (hint: it's with your feet.) We groove to the sonic sounds of Radioactivity and Jay Reatard, while I explain to super producer Dan why three actually is the magic number. Put the metaphorical needle down on this one and let 'er rip!

  • Dan Friesen || JS020

    19/07/2016 Duration: 01h28min

    Boy howdy, have we gotta dinger of an episode in store for you! On today's Jam Sandwich, I'm once again joined by super producer Dan Friesen and I pass him the reins as we listen to one of his favorite albums: Blood, Sweat and Tears self titled album. Over the course of the long player, we discuss the first 20 episodes of the show and what the future might hold, which might involve more cassette tapes. I tell a story about enjoying a random pair of found poopy underpants in Milwaukee this past weekend. I seriously can't wait for you to hear how much I loved these stained whitey tighties! We wrap things up with a hatred of punks. This one not uncool. Bring on the roaring 20s!! Subscribe, submit, and order squid!!

  • Derek Smith || JS019

    12/07/2016 Duration: 01h37min

    One of my favorite aspects of running this show is it often presents the opportunity for me to kick it with good friends that I don't get to see very often. Such is the case today as I'm joined by thee ever so handsome Derek Smith. Derek is one of my favorite comedians to watch live and we used to run a show together at the Hideout Inn. There's history here folks! On today's episode, my ADHD is at an all time high and we don't really get all that into the music even though we listen to heavy hitters like the Kinks and the Pixies. Instead, we tell stories about how much fun it is to be scared / frighten others, even if it means physical retaliation from our victims. Once again, Goldfinger is somehow brought up. That's gotta be an all time podcast record and we're not even 20 episodes deep. Listen, subscribe, and rate the dickens out of it on iTunes. Real talk, this show is free, so help a brother out. You're the best!

  • Zach Peterson || JS018

    05/07/2016 Duration: 01h16min

    Reunited and it feels so good. I often wonder if the listeners of this show miss me as much as I miss them when we're apart. The world may never know. Anyway, we're joined today by a man with too many credits, Zach Peterson. We get into one of Zach's favorite artists Neil Young and discuss his infamous ditch trilogy, the current state of "classic rock" radio and the merits of fishing. Need more? Well, we've also got more listener questions and arguing with super producer Dan. You know the deal with this audio finger food. Lastly, of Zach's many titles, it's worth mentioning that he's one of the producers of The Comedy Exposition, a delightful Chicago comedy festival taking place once again this year, July 21st through the 24th. It's only a few weeks away, so get down on it. Lick up it like a saucer full of milk. Do summer right and take a nap outside. Don't wear a shirt. Get a weird tan. Just live your life, goshdarnit.

  • Marty DeRosa || JS017

    28/06/2016 Duration: 01h32min

    Fresher than a strong mimosa, I've got a naked Marty DeRosa! Real talk though, Marty is back on Jam Sandwich and this time he's extra nude. If you don't believe me and want visual proof, hit me up on twitter (@slingernick) for the outtakes. Things heat up fast and inevitably we all get horny. It's kind of our "thing." On a horniness scale of "limp wiener" to "rocket ride" this episode is ready for take off. Additionally, we take listener question's live on air and continue to expose dark secrets from producer Dan's mysterious past. Episodes with these two dudes are always the most fun. It's so much fun that you'll want to subscribe and tell all your friends. Or at least your therapist. Actually, do that instead. I would love it if I built up a huge shrink fan base. Please help me achieve my dream. NOTE FROM JamSam: This episode initially went up with some glitches. It's now been fixed, so if you subscribe or have issues with your download, delete the old one and get it again now that it's been fixed. We deser

  • Stephanie Hasz || JS016

    22/06/2016 Duration: 01h35min

    Take off your shirt. Now take off your shoes and socks. Next, remove your bottoms. Throw on some shades. Pour yourself a tequila. Sit in the breeze or in front of an oscillating fan. Kick your feet up. Now that we're good and cozy, get down with comedian Stephanie Hasz on an all new episode of Jam Sandwich. Steph is one of my best friends in the whole wide world and she means a lot to me, but that certainly doesn't stops us from bickering with each other, as heard here. Today we get into some bossa nova, revisiting Marcos Valle and his mentor Antonio Carlos Jobim. Super producer Dan and Stephanie do a great job proving that I don't always know what I'm talking about; probably cause of the drugs (prescription and recreational.) We also have our very first sponsor! I'm not even gonna say that this episode is "good," it's straight up HISTORIC! Tell your friends and family. Or call your parents, just to say hello. Ask how they're doing and actually listen to them. Be nice. Then get back into the tequila. You dese

  • Farout || JS015

    14/06/2016 Duration: 01h35min

    Send up a smoke signal and gather your heady friends; it's an all new episode of Jam Sandwich! Today I'm joined by Indyground artist Farout, who also just so happens to be an old friend of our producer, Dan Friesen. We literally met minutes before recording the show, but through our mutual love of the devil's lettuce and solid funk jams, we were shooting the shit like old friends in no time. On this episode we spin George Clinton's Computer Games and guzzle a ton of beer I stole from my dad. Put it in, leave it in and chug something cold cause now is the time to get choogled!!

  • Dan Friesen || JS014

    07/06/2016 Duration: 01h34min

    Today's episode is brought to you by supreme love. I'm joined by super producer Dan Friesen (Friesen Point / That's What They Want You To Think) as we dig into one of my all time favorite albums, Blue Train || BLP 1577. St. John Coltrane's divine sound has always perked my ears towards the heavens; shining light on the dark, confusing path which we call life. I tried to capture a little bit of that vibe with JS014. Turn off all your lights expect for that one dim lamp, open the windows and feel the cool breeze kiss your cheeks as you settle in with another cozy episode of Jam Sandwich.

  • Conor Sullivan || JS013

    31/05/2016 Duration: 01h28min

    On today's episode I'm joined by my good friend Conor Sullivan. We don't always see eye on eye in regards of personal taste, but no one plays from their heart quite like Conor. He's so genuine in everything that he loves, that you can't help but admire him for it. Luckily, we both have a very sincere affection for Jonathan Richman, which we dig into today; which leads us down a nostalgia rabbit hole. Bring a carrot and join us, won't you?

  • Kevin Goggin & Mike Conway || JS012

    24/05/2016 Duration: 01h32min

    Oh my goodness, this episode is the most spot on portrayal of what I was trying to capture with the show; hanging with friends, gettin' loose and listening to rekkids. I was already planning on kicking it with da boys and luckily I was able to convince them to spend a portion of the night on mic! We listen to Fun House and Shazam but barely talk about the music. Instead, Mike continually makes outrageous statements and we all get real into candy. It's like a Fire flavored Jolly Rancher for your ears, this one is hot hot hot!!

  • Goodrich Gevaart || JS010

    17/05/2016 Duration: 01h21min

    The guest so nice I've already booked him thrice: Goodrich Gevaart is back on once again! We pick up where JS002 left off and finally get around to jamming on some Diamond Dave era Van Halen. Over two classic albums we discuss a bunch of really bizarre facts about the band that you may or may not already know. Hell, maybe we don't even know what we're saying. Who cares?  All you really need to know is Van Halen kicks ass and rock n' roll will never die. Fuck yo' brown M&M's!

  • Marty DeRosa || JS009

    10/05/2016 Duration: 01h30min

    Comedian, wrestling aficionado, and millionaire Dr. Marty DeRosa joins me for today's episode of Jam Slamditch. We talk about our teen years spent at the Fireside Bowl and I sound like I drank a bunch of dairy. If you've been listening to the show regularly then you know that it gets pretty horned up from time to time, but today is special because no one has ever been hornier than Marty! As if his raw untamed libido was somehow not enough for you, that Mr. Man planned ahead and had me on his show Wrestling With Depression, which is also now available for your listening pleasure. Two heavies in a day. Think you can hang with the bad boys? Cause we play hard. With that said, I beg of you to please, dear god, come hard.

  • Steve Malito || JS008

    03/05/2016 Duration: 01h21min

    Pour a whiskey neat and saddle up for today's episode of Jam Sanwich with cosmic cowboy Steve Malito. We take to some of my favorite country albums the way a horse takes to oats. We dive deep into the world of Buck Owens and His Buckaroos and then follow it up with the red headed stranger's Shotgun Willie. Somehow we end up talking about Will Smith and "getting hit in yer rocks." Join the herd, gaze at the stars and git along little doggies.

  • Dan Friesen || JS007

    29/04/2016 Duration: 01h13min

    Super producer Dan Friesen joins me on the mic today as we dive into Black Moon's 1993 masterpiece Enta da Stage. He famously can't keep himself from jumping on mic from time to time, so it's a real treat to get a solid hour of just my main man Frie Frie. We talk weird testicular issues, the Lion King and the art of podcasting. Check out his show Friesen Point for even more delights!

  • Mike Conway || JS006

    27/04/2016 Duration: 01h13min

    My tight bro from way back when, Mike Conway, joins me for today's episode of Jäm Sändwerch. We dig in to some of our shared favorites: Weird Al's Dare To Be Stupid and The Drag's Dragsploitation... Now! We talk about the first albums we purchased across various formats, proper pool etiquette, "Real Talk" Conway and much, much more. Pop a bottle of coke, hit the Magic Flight, and let the good times roll!!

  • VSE Series: Ƭ̵̬̊ | Johnny Walker || JS011

    22/04/2016 Duration: 01h26min

    Sho'nuff, sho'nuff 2016 has not been kind. Prince may have left this realm for now, but as we all know legends never die. I'm joined by my good friend Johnny Walker for an unscheduled late night episode about The Purple One, focusing primarily on his work with other artists. Honestly I just wanted to talk to someone about Prince and keep playing the hits, as I'd been doing since first hearing the news. Dig if you will the picture podcast.

  • Goodrich Gevaart || JS005

    19/04/2016 Duration: 01h02min

    When we finished recording this episode the very first thing producer Dan said to me was "That's either the best thing you've ever done or the worst." Listen to Goodrich Gevaart and I explore some of reggae's finest and judge for yourself. Jah bless us, everyone.

  • Solo Session || JS004

    15/04/2016 Duration: 01h08min

    This is a very special episode of Jam Sandwich, as there are no guests on today's show. I notoriously don't know when to shut the fuck up, so I wanted to see if I could record an episode all by myself. In this episode I get into Gil Scott-Heron, why I like what I like and the ability to derail and distract one's self.
