Participation Trophies and Yearly Graduations – Episode 34
29/05/2016 Duration: 11minHow many times did you graduate? I'm almost 45 and I only had two opportunities to graduate… High School and College. If you search almost any social media site right now, you will see 2nd graders in caps and gowns saying that they "graduated"… WHAT?? How do you become the valedictorian of "nap time"? How is it that we have allowed this to happen? Kids are growing up with participation trophies and yearly graduations and what happens when they go into the "real world"? It's scary out there. You see, nobody GIVES you a promotion because you filled the space in a cubicle nicely. Nobody gives you a promotion because you participated in weekly lunches. You get the promotion and the raise by working for it…and EARNING IT! The participation trophy generation isn't going to understand that because they are GIVEN what they have without having to earn it. I don't mean be mean to kids. I don't mean to make kids feel inferior… I am saying that they do need to learn that there is a winner and a loser in almost every real

The WEIGHT of Everything – Episode 33

You may even have FELT like it was happening to you at some point too, right? Life is easy and complicated at the same time. We can stroll through life with absolute abandon and try to never have a worry or care in the world… the reality is that we will ALWAYS have something that is on our hearts and minds. Paying It Forward – Episode 32
15/05/2016 Duration: 11minHave you ever had a total stranger pay for your meal or morning coffee without asking? They were likely paying it forward… Chances are you probably felt the urge to do the exact same thing for someone after that, right? Paying it forward can take on so many different paths. It could be the simple act of holding a door open for someone, helping someone with their groceries, buying that double latte or anything in between. We ALL have an opportunity daily to do this. I have personally done random acts for others over the years… no expectation of return. Recently I did have a new opportunity to coach someone that asked me to get them going on their own path. I was so excited and happy to do this… GIDDY!! I ended up sending a message to my coach to let them know what I was doing. Am I coach? I guess now I am… Did I think I was qualified? Heck no! Only time will tell if the student can become a teacher. How will YOU pay it forward today? Hit subscribe and support the show. Leave

Handling the Unexpected – Episode 31
08/05/2016 Duration: 11minHow do you handle the unexpected? Do you STRESS? WORRY? OBSESS over it until you are sick? If you had asked me these questions a year ago, I would have said "YES!" and now… I whole-heartedly can say "NOPE!!" What is the difference now? How many times did you worry about something or stress over it… and all that stress and worry made a difference? Likely, that answer is never. I learned a while back that unless I could change the outcome of a problem by thinking about it, STOP THINKING ABOUT IT! We worry about things without taking action. STOP! Take action on something if you can, otherwise look for the best solution you can with what you DO have available to you. It will make your life happier in the long run! Who and What You Attract To Yourself – Episode 30
01/05/2016 Duration: 12minWHO and WHAT do you attract to yourself? Do you feel like you are always around negative or positive people? Have you ever asked why you seem to never get progress in anything? You have a choice. You can either be the magnet that attracts the negative or the positive things towards you. This has more to do with attitude and ability to be open and honest with yourself. If you are ALWAYS around the negative people that are not trying to get ahead, not trying to improve themselves or even supporting you in your efforts to improve, YOU have to make the effort to get the right people around you. I recently had a great boost to myself when I got a friend request from someone that I admired and respected in business and life. He makes a few people uncomfortable and some downright angry… but I think he is true to himself and that is something I appreciate. I realized that I was starting to attract the positive and influential people I wanted to attract to my life. THIS is what it is all about folks! Hit subscribe and

Impact and Engage – Episode 29
24/04/2016 Duration: 10minHow do you impact and engage the people around you? Do you build people up or break them down? Do you motivate them to do more or simply applaud the minimum effort taken? One person impacted on podcast and I was happy… Thinking too small. If you help ONE person, that can snowball into helping hundreds or thousands. My goal is to make an impact in the lives of at LEAST 1 MILLION people. Hit subscribe and support the show. Leave a review and let me know what you think. What I've Learned from Coaching – Episode 27
10/04/2016 Duration: 11minSports and coaching are synonymous. Business and Life also have coaching as a daily activity. No business tycoon, leader or trailblazer has made it from their beginning to current stages without the help and mentoring of people they trust. It could be one on one or a mastermind… every gets help along the way. I was fortunate enough a few weeks ago to have someone that I admire and trust reach out to me and offer coaching. We talked about my limited resources and we talked about what I could do to earn the coaching that was being offered. I had fear that I would not be able to live up to what was expected. I was thinking INSIDE the box. I was thinking small. Just in a few short sessions, I opened my eyes to a new level of possibilities and a higher level of thinking. TAKE ACTION when told to do so. This is one of the biggest things I have learned. Ask questions and search out answers. I started believing in myself more because I was being believed in by my coach. It was AMAZING!!! He sent me a book to r

Ep 26: Fear of Change
03/04/2016 Duration: 12minWe all have a routine. It can be something we do every morning or evening. It can be the same exercise schedule, same route to work, same dinner every night… we get comfortable with it. What happens when that routine changes? Do you panic? Do you go into a tailspin? Change is inevitable and it is a part of life we have to get used to. I challenge you to do ONE thing this week to change a routine that you have. Take a different route to work. If you can work remotely, work someplace you have never worked before for a short time. Get out of the comfort zone a little…see that life WILL be OK. Hit subscribe and support the show. Ep 25: Why The Change?
31/03/2016 Duration: 13minI LOVE doing this podcast!!! Do I make anything off of it? I made .14 cents… FOURTEEN CENTS through Amazon Affiliate links. Do I care? Nope… But I also want to give YOU the most I can for each episode. Over the course of the last few solo episodes, I have noticed I have been somewhat “plain” in my excitement for the episodes when I was recording them. I didn’t feel I was really putting my entire heart into it like I should be. Part of this is from some personal struggles I have been going through, partly because I was stressing over staying “on schedule”. How do I fix it AND make it worthwhile? First, I drop from 2 episodes a week to 1. Second, I put more time and thought into my topic and research. Third, I find some more kick ass interviews to do and I have a few people in mind already. What can you expect starting on Sunday, April 3rd? Shows will start going into deeper depth with some more information made available on the website. I am shifting away from the FB

Ep 24: Organizing Time and Priorities
27/03/2016 Duration: 11minI talked on the previous episode about work and stress. I talked about cutting off my cable services. Why did I do that again? FOCUS. I was mindlessly spending time attached to a TV scrolling up and down a menu trying to find a distraction. In the meantime, I could have been using that time to better myself. I could have been reading, learning to play chess, learning a new language, at the gym, doing house work, developing a new income source. I took back my ability to organize my own time and my priorities. I still have streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and my Amazon Prime account… But I am limiting myself on purpose and it was easier to take drastic measures. In fact… One benefit was that I saved half of my monthly cost, doubled my internet speed and I am putting money in the bank again. We all have the same 24 hours. We don’t get more or less than anyone else. It’s how we organize and prioritize that time that makes the difference in how the day goes. Who do you think gets fur

Ep 23: Working Through Disappointment
23/03/2016 Duration: 11minI’ve been dealing with a number of disappointing situations lately. Struggling with motivation and it’s developing a rather nasty attitude on my part. So what is the answer? Deal with it! This is what you do. You DEAL with whatever is in front of you. You can’t deal with what has already happened and you can change. You can’t deal with what MIGHT happen… JUST what you can see and handle at that moment. Doesn’t mean to not be prepared… but to obsess over a possibility is stupid. So what has been my biggest disappointment lately? Work and my stress levels. I like what I do… I have some issues with a different personality than I am used to. I can’t go into any specifics, but let’s just say that I am not the only person who has this issue and the people at the center of it are “protected” by association with others. So it makes morale terrible. I’ve also been dealing with a series of broken promises and ignored requests through my ag

13/03/2016 Duration: 53minKolby Kolibas (AKA Kolby Kay) is a man with many talents. He has been an executive, running sales and marketing, author, emcee and business partner for Rush Club, business advisor, entrepreneur, blogger, podcaster and a family man… Kolby is a busy man! Ep 18: Challenging Myself in February
06/03/2016 Duration: 16minFebruary has always been a month of experimentation for me. This year that is no exception! I decided that I wanted to break my self-imposed hermit life and get out and be more social. OH, I wasn’t about to become that guy that hung out at the bars and clubs all night 7 days a week. I kinda did that in my earlier years…and it got expensive and draining then. I can only imagine what it would be like now. This month the challenge was on two fronts… Go to places I normally don’t go to or enjoy being at AND get out on dates. Sometimes you accomplish your goals and sometimes you don’t though… so check it out and see how it all went down! Hit subscribe and support the show. Leave a review and let me know what you think. Ep 17: What You Give Up Instead of Living
02/03/2016 Duration: 15minWhat do you give up instead of living? What is the most important thing to you? Family? Free time? Friends? Money? What you do every day… is it really working towards that goal of being with your family or friends? Is it helping you gain more free time later in time? Is it making you more money or is it costing you more than you make? Are you following a passion or just doing something to make meet the needs of the moment? WHY do you wake up every day and do the things you do? Comment and let me know… I am interested in seeing the responses. Hit subscribe and support the show. Ep 16: Social Anxiety and Toastmasters
28/02/2016 Duration: 15minToday I wanted to talk about my social anxiety and one of the biggest stepping stones I took to break that fear up. I recently had an opportunity to go to a Toastmasters club meeting and it was amazing! I have wanted to do Toastmasters for years but never got up the nerve or courage to go. I was always uneasy wondering if I would be accepted? Would I be laughed at? Would I freeze up while speaking? What if nobody talks to me or WANTS me to talk? My fears were quickly crushed as I walked into my first meeting at Ziglar International. The meeting was so well run and organized. The speakers there were incredible and the feedback that everyone game was amazing. It was critical, but constructive. For those that don’t know what Toastmasters is let me just give you the description from their own website. “Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs.” Go to www.toastmasters.org and check
