EP129 Transition to Leadership Part 1
27/02/2018 Duration: 28minToo many times people are promoted to leadership positions because they are good at the tasks of their front line job. This does not, however, mean a person has leadership skills. To make the situation even more challenging, many people do not benefit from leadership training. They are told to figure it out as they go, or told they will be temporary until someone is hired - and that can go on for year. This episode is Part 1 of 2 episodes focused on the transition to leadership with specific guidelines you can follow to succeed when you are new to leadership, or in a leadership role without the benefit of leadership mentoring.

And, you decide if you are going to be a person who is fun to work with. What if, on job descriptions, we could write: "Others duties as needed, including being fun to work with 40 hours a week,"? Applying the four concepts outlined in this episode will help you enjoy your work and provide higher levels of customer service. Would it increase efficiency to publish work instructions in multiple languages? While some organization leaders embrace these questions and the discussions that follow, others become angry at the mere suggestion of supporting diverse work forces by overcoming potential communication barriers through mulit-language communication efforts.
