It is the season premiere of Double G Radio’s basketball show The Box Out. Kahlil and Jason return every single week from now until the end of the basketball season to discuss everything basketball. Both the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets are gearing up for the 2017-2018 NBA season. The guys will look at both squads and determine what their most significant challenges will be. Can the Nets compete in a weak Eastern Conference? Will the Knicks rebuild begin in earnest or fail miserably? Kahlil and Jason will preview the season for both tri-state area teams. The Box Out returns with an emergency edition of the show after the monumental news from Saturday afternoon. The Knicks finally traded Carmelo Anthony with the perennial All-Star being moved to Oklahoma City in exchange for Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott, and a draft pick. Kahlil and Jason will give their thoughts on the deal and what it means for both teams. Joining the show will be Double G Sports basketball writer Ben McDonald with his thoughts on the trade and if the Knicks got back what they deserved or could have gotten more for Melo. All this and more on a special emergency edition of The Box Out on Double G Sports radio.  

The Box Out returns as we move ever so closer to the beginning of the NBA season. As the start of the season draws near, so does the likelihood of the Knicks beginning the season with Carmelo Anthony on the roster. The problem….a new blog post by Knick GM Scott Perry on Thursday does not include Carmelo in the discussion of the team.  There were also reports this week that Anthony is confident that New York will trade him to Houston by Monday. Add in the comments by Michael Beasley that the Knicks can compete for the fifth or sixth playoff spot and there is a ton to talk about when it comes to the Knicks. Kahlil and Jason will discuss all the goings on with the Knicks as the soap opera continues.  That and Kevin Durant’s social media issues and the new NBA jerseys, all on a brand new episode of The Box Out on Double G Sports Radio. 

The Box Out returns with the aftermath of the Kyrie Irving trade to the Boston Celtics. After Cleveland had buyers remorse and attempted to get more from Boston, the trade was finally completed with the addition of a 2020 second-round pick also going to Cleveland. Now that the deal is done, is Cleveland still the best team in the Eastern Conference? Does this trade push Boston past Cleveland? With the successful first season of the Big 3 now in the books, they are now facing a lawsuit from another legends league. However, with a second season guaranteed can the Big 3 one day rival the NBA one day? The guys will discuss. The Box Out comes to you on a Friday night, a little later than normal but news packed nonetheless.  Well, it finally happened - Kyrie Irving was traded this week. Irving went to the Boston Celtics for Isiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and Boston’s first round draft pick that belonged to the Nets. With the trade now complete, what does this mean for both the Celtics and the Cavaliers? Does this trade push Boston past Cleveland into the number one contenders for the Eastern Conference?   With the Kyrie deal done, the question locally becomes what does all of this mean for the New York Knicks? No Kyrie and Carmelo is still on the team. Where do the Knicks go from here? Do the entertain the Houston Rockets’ offer for Melo, including Ryan Anderson?  That and more, including whether the Bulls will buy out Dwyane Wade’s contract, on The Box Out.

Yael Averbuch is a five year veteran of the National Women's Soccer League and has won two championship titles with FC Kansas City. On May 15, 2017, the UNC alumna helped coordinate the founding of the NWSL Players Association. The PA will cover all non-allocated players, as well as amateur players with NWSL affiliate teams. The Box Out returns after a week off to drop massive knowledge about the sport of basketball.  The Knicks have filled their roster this week with new players Ramon Sessions and Michael Beasley. While those names do not instill fear in the NBA, is this the only moves left to make until the Carmelo Anthony situation is solved? Kahlil and Jason will discuss. While basketball news dies during the summer, The Box Out will explore different basketball films and whether they still hold up today. Two weeks ago was Above The Rim and this week, the guys will look at the film Blue Chips starring Nick Nolte, Shaquille O’Neal and Penny Hardaway. There were a lot of themes in the movie so Kahlil and Jason will discuss whether the themes in the movie still holds true today in college basketball and athletes as a whole.  That and more, including some WNBA news about the New York Liberty, all on this edition of The Box Out.   

The New York Baseball teams are wheeling and dealing. The Mets have been buyers and sellers which actually makes sense. Meanwhile, the Yankees seem like they're really going for it this year, at least as much as they can without giving up MAJOR prospects. We'll be talking with Nick Vigliotti of MLB Advanced Media all about his thoughts on the moves of the Yankees. Charles Oakley recently came out saying that he believes NBA players now a day might as well be wearing dresses, that's how soft they are. Are those comments warranted? We'll discuss. Also, NFL training camp has begun and what is the outlook in the Big Apple for Big Blue and Gang Green?

The Box Out returns after a week off and just when we thought there was no more NBA news to report, more continues to happen. Last week, it was reported that Kyrie Irving requested a trade out of Cleveland as he was no longer interested in being LeBron James’ little brother. There are reportedly four teams on Irving’s wish list to get traded to, and one of them is...THE NEW YORK KNICKS.
