    Welcome back to another edition of The Big Apple Sports Hour with Stopsky and G, we missed you all over the 4th of July holiday. But, now we're back and ready to dive into some New York Sports! We'll kick it off by talking about the New York baseball scene as both the Mets and the Yankees are limping into the All-Star break. In addition, we'll be talking to Lead Mets Writer for Double G Sports, Dan Yanofsky live from the sight of the 2017 All-Star festivities in sunny Miami, FL.  The second half of the show is all yours, feel free to give us a call to chime in on anything. But what we'll be getting into is what's caused such a spike in home runs this season, Stopsky will tell us why the New York Jets tanking will backfire, and what the latest is on the New York Knicks.

    The Box Out is back at it with the aftermath of the beginning of NBA Free Agency. Major news came out this week after Gordon Hayward announced that he would be signing with the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are now trying to free cap space to sign him with three players now on the trading block.  Kahlil and Jason will look at the move and whether it makes the Celtics the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. Paul George is now a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder as the Pacers traded him to OKC for almost nothing. Does OKC move up in the Western Conference pecking order? Wil George consider staying with the Thunder or continue towards LA? The guys will discuss. Finally after firing Phil Jackson, the Knicks has done next to nothing during free agency and now are being linked to Rajon Rondo. What should the Knicks do?     After last week’s NBA Draft and marathon show, The Box Out returns, and there is a ton to talk about this week. The unthinkable happened on Wednesday has Phil Jackson was relieved of his duties as New York Knicks president. A move that both Jason and Kahlil wanted for months happened, and now in the aftermath of the move, the guys look at the future of the team and where they go from here. Another significant move occurred on Wednesday when the Clippers traded Chris Paul to the Rockets for seven players, a first-round draft pick and cash. This move put the Rockets into the conversation as a possible opponent for the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals next season. Meanwhile, reports of infighting emerged as sources say that Paul lost confidence in Clippers coach Doc Rivers after being accused of nepotism towards his son Austin Rivers. The last week has been intense as the moves have been fast and furious. Kahlil and Jason will discuss all the moves, including everything that happens during the draft...did I mention that the show will LIVE! With all the moves happening, you just know the Knicks had to get involved with it all. Rumors have the Knicks listening to offers for Kristaps Porzingis.     The NBA Draft is set to kick off this Thursday! Stopsky and G will dive into what the New York Knicks may do with the eighth overall pick and what the Brooklyn Nets may do with the 22nd and 27th overall picks.  Next, the guys welcome in DoubleGSports own, Kelsi Brown who writes for the site covering the New York Yankees. She'll tell us if she's worried about the current losing streak, the starting pitching and the Judge. Finally, don't think we forgot about your New York Mets. Matthew Cerrone, the man who created Metsblog.com will join the show to break down the fundamental and not so fundamental problems of the Mets. The Box Out is here to give you a NBA Finals review and what is on the horizon for both of these teams, along with the rest of the NBA. In one week the NBA Draft emanates from the Barclays Center and Bleacher Report released a very interesting mock draft just seven days away from the big night. Kahlil and Jason will look at the mock draft, including the interesting selection they are predicting at number two. Finally we have hit the end of the NBA season which means the focus shifts to the WNBA. Jason is the New York Liberty beat writer for Double G Sports and he will talk about the Liberty season to this point and what the rest of the WNBA looks like as their season is in full swing.     It was a good weekend to be a fan of the New York Baseball teams. The New York Mets took 3 out of 4 from the Atlanta Braves where Steven Matz and Seth Lugo made their season debuts and Yoenis Cesepedes made a thunderous return to the lineup. As for the Bombers from the Bronx, they swept a series at home against their division rivals in the Orioles.  We're getting into the start of summer and we all know summer never lasts as long as we hope it will and at the end of it in Aug. we really start gearing up for the NFL season. The Jets are cleaning out the roster, while the Giants look to be a legit Super Bowl contender. Stopsky also attended a Charity Softball game hosted by Landon Collins, he'll give us his reaction to that event along with being around and meeting some of the players.

    The Box Out returns as the basketball world is on the verge of history. The Golden State Warriors took a 3-0 series lead against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals and is one game away from going a perfect 16-0 in the 2017 NBA Playoffs. Kahlil and Jason will look at how the series has progressed and whether LeBron and Cleveland will even take one game from the Warriors or whether Golden State is that good. With the NBA Draft approaching, there are serious rumors regarding the local teams and trades. The guys will talk about these proposed trades and whether it is in the the Knicks and Nets best interest to pursue them. St. John’s guard Federico Mussini will forgo his final two seasons of college and pursue a playing career in Europe. Reports surfaced that Phil Jackson and Kristaps Porzingis had a meeting where Jackson pretty much ignored the young Knicks’ star. Jason and Kahlil will discuss where everything stands between these two and whether Phil has anymore goodwill with anyone anymore. The playoffs have went the way that many thought it would as the Golden State Warriors are awaiting their matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, once the Cavs close out the Boston Celtics. Have these playoffs been as bad as everyone is saying? Celtics’ president Danny Ainge said in an interview that representatives of Lonzo Ball have told Boston that Ball will not workout for their team. Are Ball and his reps ruining his NBA career already? That and more, including whether Stephen A. Smith is hating on Kevin Durant or is he right, on The Box Out.
