Everything in life fades away. The gifts we have now ... in ten years will we still hold them valuable? Probably not. That's why the gift of God's person-- a relationship with Himself is so meaningful. When the gifts fade, the Giver of all good things remains.

The wise men were wise because of Who they were seeking. After studying and discovery, the decided to make the long journey to behold Jesus for themselves. How far will we go to discover who Jesus is?

Pastor Darren spoke on the power of the Holy Spirit. He challenged us to depend on Him--for without Him, we can do nothing.

If you're a human being, you know that it is easy to find something to complain about. But says the scripture? "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." God commands us to 1) not worry 2) pray and make supplication 3) give thanks 4) make your requests known. :o)

Jesus gave up Himself. Sometimes it is hard to grasp the fact that our Creator, who with the power of His word commands and it is so, gave up His authority, concealed His Godhead, and poured out His life for His creation ... I don't know that we can ever truly grasp that. And if it be so (it is), then God help us to let Him be our God. That we would put our trust in Him and His Word - not in us and temporal treasures.

David Osborne talks about the importance of worship despite the circumstances.

When we give, we encourage others. We also help to meet the needs of others.

Pastor Chris talks about the importance of the area of giving in our lives. When we give, we are really saying to God that we trust Him, that He will keep His word and take care of us.

Is your gospel touching others? Has it really touched you?

Worship is more than just mental assent to who God is. Worship involves giving of ourselves; it requires sacrifice.

If we neglect the main thing, we die. The main thing is that Christ came to save sinners like you and me. Will we live that message?

Pastor Chris stresses that the real purpose to fixing the building isn't just to have a nice building. It isn't just for morale or to make a statement to our community. It is really to experience God's presence. When we're willing to sacrifice so that the Lord's house can be what it should be, it says something about our heart relationship with the Lord.

Why are we repairing the building? So that it will be nice? Or people will admire what's been accomplished? What is the better reason for repairing the building? Pastor Chris explains here.

When Jesus was about to die, His disciples came to Him asking who would be the greatest in Heaven. They were concerned about prestige. But Jesus told them to be great, they had to be a servant. To be a great leader, you have to be willing to give up your rights and serve others, trusting that Christ really will be worth it.
