Bridging The Gap

Our study of Titus takes us to the first part of chapter three today. It is not only good - but necessary that we remember what we used to be like before God poured out His Grace upon us. And so as we consider our past condition - we’ll be reminded of our present obligation as Christians - to God and others here today. 

Pastor Lloyd says that, as believers, we should pattern ourselves after the early church in the Book of Acts. As we’ll soon see in our study today, doing these things will lead to a strong church body. There are many churches today that are trying to have a foot in the world, and a foot in God’s kingdom at the same time, and it simply doesn’t work.

pastor Lloyd’s message today will remind us of the wonderful and sure hope we have because of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, and His miraculous resurrection. Pastor Lloyd has said this often - the resurrection of Jesus is the single most important event in human history. It bridged the gap between sinful man and a perfect God. Where would we be without it?

Today on Bridging the Gap, we’ll learn how Christians can make a difference that can “warm things up” or “cool things off” in a wicked society and under an ungodly government.

Old age is an asset, not a liability, despite what our world teaches today. Those who are older in the faith have so much that they’ve learned about God. Yet, quite often - older people take on a different attitude, like, “It’s time to let the younger people do it now, I’ll just sit back, do nothing, retire from serving God, and wait till He takes me home.”  Today pastor Lloyd encourage senior saints to be all that God wants them to be.

Today’s message is practical, challenging, and pointed directly at the heart of every believer - pastor or not! Leading a holy life is a great challenge, whether you’re talking about the days of Titus in the first century A.D., or the year 2023, but that’s Paul’s message to Titus in chapters one and two - strive to be holy!

At the present time, we are making our way through the book of Titus.  Here in the first chapter, we read of a tough task given to a man named Titus, but this mission was possible through the power of almighty God.  False prophets existed in that day, just as they do in our day.  But the question is, how do we respond to them?

Today on Bridging the Gap, we’ll read of a difficult task given to Titus and it serves as a great model for us to observe. Someone has well said that a leader is someone who knows the way, shows the way, and goes the way.   We’ll see the truth in that statement played out through scripture here today on Bridging the Gap. 

While we make it our aim to be faithful to the Word, there are so many others out there who make a career out of distorting it and watering it down.  Many of you know this already.  There are scores of teachers both home and abroad whose motivation is impure and teaching is false.  The question arises then, how are we to respond to them?  The first chapter of Titus provides answers

There are also qualifications to be met for Elders of the church as we’ll see next on Bridging the Gap with Lloyd Pulley.  Today on Bridging the Gap we begin a study of Titus.  Now it didn’t take the apostle Paul long to get right into the meat and potatoes in this epistle.

Today Lloyd brings us the final installment of his new series titled “Where in the World Are We?”, and we’ll be traveling to a number of scripture passages. Lloyd will remind us that there are indeed many things for us to do before the Lord’s return, and we shouldn’t get caught up in simply waiting around for that glorious event.

 One day the Lord will return and this earth will be changed forever. Are you prepared? Our scripture text is Second Peter chapter three, and today’s message is part one of pastor Lloyd’s final message in his series titled “Where in the World Are We?".

There is no doubt that the times we live are dangerous for Christians. It seems like not a day goes by that there isn’t a new law passed somewhere in this country restricting our religious freedoms or outright criminalizing some aspect of Christianity. How do we cope with the threats to our freedoms? Well, the title of today’s message should give you a hint - it’s titled “Living By Faith”.

 Today we bring you a message from a book in the bible that is often times overlooked, but contains some valuable and practical lessons for us - the book of Habakkuk. The times we are currently living in are unique, to say the least. What we need a good dose of faith - and where we place that faith is vitally important. Our study in Habakkuk today points us to the only source of true and lasting hope - Jesus Christ.

Everywhere we turn, God is either mocked, misinterpreted or marginalized. That’s the world we face as believers in the year 2023. What are we to do? The world would prefer we just keep our mouths shut and learn to live with it, but God tells us something quite different. Today we continue pastor Lloyd's new series titled “Where in the World Are We?”. Someone once said,”Discipline without freedom is tyranny.  Freedom without discipline is chaos”.  No one knows this better than God.  Discipline is an absolute necessity in our lives.  As we look at Isaiah chapter five today we get a glimpse of discipline - discipline meted out to a people who didn’t want to live within boundaries. Sound familiar?

God in all of His infinite wisdom decided on Israel to be His chosen people.  He desired a relationship with them. Israel rebelled, only to discover that a relationship with God is not just a one way road. As we look around us, we see a world in the same situation Israel was in. You see, God has expectations for us. And the consequences of not meeting them are disastrous.

Pastor Lloyd Pulley is sharing a new series titled “Where in the World Are Were?”, and we are currently in the book of Isaiah, where we see a nation in a very similar condition as we see around us today -  coming under God’s judgment because they are in sin.
