Today on Bridging the Gap, we continue pastor Lloyd Pulley’s new series called “By Faith”. We’re examining Hebrews chapter eleven, and the lives of several people who displayed great faith in God through their actions and their prayers. Today we’ll again look at the life of Abraham, the Father of faith.

Pastor Lloyd has just begun a series on the great people of the Bible, based in Hebrews chapter eleven, the “Hall of Faith”. No one in the Bible displayed faith any better than Abraham, and that’s why he’s commonly referred to as “The Father Of Faith”. Abraham was a great man of faith, and he put his faith into ACTION! 

 Today Lloyd continues a new series in Hebrews eleven, titled “By Faith”. We’re looking at the lives of some of the great people in the Bible, and we’re discovering a very important truth - none of them was perfect. You don’t have to be perfect to serve God! Today we’ll take a look at the life of Abraham.

To build the enormous boat and complete all the tasks associated with it took a lot of sweat, and a lot of faith and a lot of obedience! Our series in Hebrews eleven is called “By Faith”, and there’s no better example than Noah.

Today, pastor Lloyd Pulley continues our series called “By Faith”, by looking at a great man of faith named Noah. We’re all familiar with the story of the Ark, but when you take a close look at Noah’s life and his faith, you find a man who was much more than the builder of a giant boat. 

Last time, we began a series through the eleventh chapter of Hebrews, commonly referred to as the “hall of faith”. Before we get down to actually looking at the lives of the faithful servants described here, pastor Lloyd wants to take some time to talk about what faith really is, and why it’s so important in the life of a Christian.

 If you want to visit the Hall of Fame of faith - then all you need to do is read Hebrews eleven. That’s what we’ll do over the next several weeks. Hebrews eleven describes the faith of some of the best known people in the Bible, like Abraham, Noah and Moses. But also some great people of faith you may not be familiar with, like Jephtha and Barak. It’s going to be a fascinating and inspirational journey, so open your Bible to Hebrews eleven, as pastor Lloyd brings us today’s opening message, called “The Importance of Faith”.

Can you think of some divisive people in your church? Sadly, they’re all around us. Wherever there are people, there are bound to be problems, and that’s even true in the church.  Today on Bridging the Gap pastor Lloyd puts the finishing touches on our study of Titus.  We join pastor Lloyd now in Titus chapter three.

Our study of Titus takes us to chapter three once again today, and there topic again will be God’s wonderful grace. I’m sure you’ve heard the acronym someone cam e up with for the word grace - God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. How true that is! Without God’s grace, we would be condemned to hell.

Our study of Titus takes us to the first part of chapter three today. It is not only good - but necessary that we remember what we used to be like before God poured out His Grace upon us. And so as we consider our past condition - we’ll be reminded of our present obligation as Christians - to God and others here today. 

Pastor Lloyd says that, as believers, we should pattern ourselves after the early church in the Book of Acts. As we’ll soon see in our study today, doing these things will lead to a strong church body. There are many churches today that are trying to have a foot in the world, and a foot in God’s kingdom at the same time, and it simply doesn’t work.

pastor Lloyd’s message today will remind us of the wonderful and sure hope we have because of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, and His miraculous resurrection. Pastor Lloyd has said this often - the resurrection of Jesus is the single most important event in human history. It bridged the gap between sinful man and a perfect God. Where would we be without it?

Today on Bridging the Gap, we’ll learn how Christians can make a difference that can “warm things up” or “cool things off” in a wicked society and under an ungodly government.

Old age is an asset, not a liability, despite what our world teaches today. Those who are older in the faith have so much that they’ve learned about God. Yet, quite often - older people take on a different attitude, like, “It’s time to let the younger people do it now, I’ll just sit back, do nothing, retire from serving God, and wait till He takes me home.”  Today pastor Lloyd encourage senior saints to be all that God wants them to be.

Today’s message is practical, challenging, and pointed directly at the heart of every believer - pastor or not! Leading a holy life is a great challenge, whether you’re talking about the days of Titus in the first century A.D., or the year 2023, but that’s Paul’s message to Titus in chapters one and two - strive to be holy!

At the present time, we are making our way through the book of Titus.  Here in the first chapter, we read of a tough task given to a man named Titus, but this mission was possible through the power of almighty God.  False prophets existed in that day, just as they do in our day.  But the question is, how do we respond to them?

Today on Bridging the Gap, we’ll read of a difficult task given to Titus and it serves as a great model for us to observe. Someone has well said that a leader is someone who knows the way, shows the way, and goes the way.   We’ll see the truth in that statement played out through scripture here today on Bridging the Gap. 

While we make it our aim to be faithful to the Word, there are so many others out there who make a career out of distorting it and watering it down.  Many of you know this already.  There are scores of teachers both home and abroad whose motivation is impure and teaching is false.  The question arises then, how are we to respond to them?  The first chapter of Titus provides answers
