  • EP188 Fast Forward Your Training Effectiveness with Shawn Volland

    28/06/2019 Duration: 45min

Training is expensive. When we take time to train employees who then quit, it gets VERY expensive. Many employees quit because they don't excel quickly enough to feel valued by their supervisors and managers. Or, they don't feel engaged because without being given higher levels of work, "busy" work is shoved on them. This situation can lead to less engagement and productivity. Imagine this: what if, on their first day on the job, new hires felt as if they were learning quickly and contributing right away? How do you think that would make them feel? How do you think that would make their supervisors and trainers feel? Listen to this inspiring episode with Shawn Volland and start to envision how hiring him might help you sustain high performing employees while bringing new hires "up to speed" more quickly than ever before. • EP186 Take One Day A Week to Don't Worry Be Happy

    20/06/2019 Duration: 13min

When was the last time you had an entire day to yourself to do or not do whatever you wanted to do or not do? Even though we have the weekend to, in theory, take a break, many of us don't take a break because that's the time to hurry up and accomplish all the things we didn't have time to take care of during the week. If you have kids who aren't old enough to take public transportation or drive on their own, you might be running them around. You might be facing weekend crowds to take care of errands. You might be hiding out in the garage or sneaking in some video games before you are faced with the "honey do" list. You might be scrambling to get the laundry done and get the house in order before the next weekly life cycle hits. Life can get busy and taking one day a week for yourself is important for your well-being. #relatableleader #catherinegoggia #worksmartlivehappy Purchase Catherine Goggia's books on Amazon.  Thank you for listening and subscribing, and recommending The Relatable Leader podcast.

  • EP185 Build Up Your Emotional and Physical Stamina

    19/06/2019 Duration: 17min

On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest, how would you rate your emotional stamina today? Are you able to face unforeseen circumstances throughout your work day without getting so depleted you can't do good work? Are you able to face difficult coworkers without coming undone? When things take you by surprise, are you able to respond appropriately?  Are you taking good care of your body? Are you able to maintain productive energy throughout your entire work shift? Do you have the physical strength to get out of bed every day with enthusiasm and maintain your physical strength all day long? Are you as active as you should be? Are you proud of your body in terms of physical stamina? Are you sitting on the side lines with your kids or grandchildren, or are you actively participating in life?

  • EP184 Study with a Financial Mentor and Consistently Apply Your Learning

    18/06/2019 Duration: 11min

Do you have financial freedom? What is your plan for getting out of debt? Do you prioritize paying off debt before making unnecessary purchases? Suzie Orman advises us to, "Live below your means and within your needs." Unfortunately, too many of us follow the, "when you make more money you spend more money," program and, as a consequence, we aren't building our savings and investments. Who is your financial mentor? If you don't have a financial mentor, reach out in some way to gain valuable financial training.

  • EP183 Establish a Meaningful Morning Ritual

    17/06/2019 Duration: 13min

How would you describe your typical morning? Do you think your mornings set you up for a positive state of being on most days? When you arrive at work at your best, why is that? What have you done to create that success state? When you dread leaving the house or don't feel ready to face the work day, why is that? What actions are you taking or not taking that set you up to operate at less than your best? In this episode you will learn about 5 key points to consider as you establish a meaningful morning ritual.  #relatableleader #catherinegoggia @worksmartlivehappy #inspiration #motivation  Purchase Catherine Goggia's books on Amazon today.

  • EP182 Align All Areas of Your Life with Your Values

    14/06/2019 Duration: 19min

Are your values driving you to be a champion in your life? If you were boarding a ship and the captain greeted you by telling you there was no rudder on the boat and no common rules of engagement for passengers - lying, cheating, stealing, and taking advantage of others would be encouraged, would you get on that boat? If you interviewed for a job and the HR manager told you most of the day you'd be doing something you don't like, would you take that job? If most of your friends and family took advantage of you for several years in a row, would you continue allowing them in your life? If, when you got home each night you were made to support things you don't believe in, would you want to live there? You filter your world view, decisions and actions, and impressions of others through your values.  Thank you for listening and subscribing to The Relatable Leader podcast. • EP181 AIM HIGHER

    13/06/2019 Duration: 14min

You might be familiar with this quote from Michelangelo: "The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark." Have you given this message personal thought and focus recently? We must not worry about what others think as we choose to make the most of this incredible life. Who knows what you might discover when you create forward momentum and bust out of any aspect of your comfort zone or fear that might be holding you back!  Thank you for listening and subscribing to The Relatable Leader podcast and recommending this podcast to others. • EP180 Stop Tolerating the Intolerable

    12/06/2019 Duration: 13min

Each of us has a limited amount of time and energy. If you have to waste energy tolerating situations and behaviors that are not okay, that you shouldn't have to tolerate - then you have less energy and time for those aspects of your life that bring you joy and fuel a thriving life. Don't zap energy away from your talents and passions: stop tolerating the intolerable.  If you haven't already listened to the first two episodes of this ten day challenge, please circle back and catch that content. • EP179 Define and Communicate Your Boundaries

    11/06/2019 Duration: 16min

Why should you define and communicate your boundaries? So you can feel respect and create a respectful environment for all of your relationships. When people do not communicate their boundaries, they sometimes fall into passive aggressive behavior patterns or end up resenting some of the people in their life because they aren't getting their needs met. Or, maybe you have communicated your boundaries, but people continued the same boundary-crossing behaviors that are not okay for you, forcing you to make a tough decision.  Thank you for listening and subscribing to The Relatable Leader podcast! This is day one of the 10 Day Challenge to Build or Strengthen Your Personal Foundation. There will be a new episode each work day for two weeks as we cover the ten steps. Thank you for recommending this podcast to your coworkers and friends!  As you define success for yourself, it's important not to compare yourself to others. While some people might live a certain lifestyle representing success according to social norms, maybe that's not at all what you want for yourself. The key is to be clear about what you DO want and take action toward that vision. This episode provides examples and guidelines for taking this important step in building and maintaining a strong personal foundation.  Thank you for listening and subscribing to The Relatable Leader podcast!  #relatableleader #catherinegoggia #selfimprovement #lifegoals #careergoals

  • EP174 Strong Roots Help You Think Bigger

    06/05/2019 Duration: 45min

Several decades ago I photographed a tree on the coast that was the first photograph to sell at a show I had at the time. The roots of the tree were exposed because it was on the edge of a cliff that had been eroded by the Pacific Ocean. Thinking about that tree inspired this episode in which I talk about the importance of knowing how you stay rooted while growing up and out in a global environment. Listen and think about why it's important for you to THINK BIGGER! #relatableleader http://www.relatableleader.com/ #catherinegoggia http://www.catherinegoggia.com/ Get your copies of Catherine Goggia's books on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=catherine+goggia&ref=nb_sb_noss #WORKSMARTLIVEHAPPY

  • EP173 Listen In On One Of My Trainings

    26/04/2019 Duration: 26min

My Team Lead and Supervisor Readiness training is a three-hour workshop. In this episode you will hear excerpts from a recent workshop I facilitated for about 60 employees from the same organization. This organization works with animals after disasters, and since I love animals so much, I agreed to offer the training on a Sunday morning, which was the best time for them. After the Camp Fire I donated several kennels and blankets through a friend of mine who volunteered with this group after The Camp Fire.  #relatableleader #catherinegoggia

  • EP172 Transformational Leadership with Ron Carrucci

    18/04/2019 Duration: 01h06min

"When your business is going through transformation, it takes more than heroic leadership, a bulletproof strategy, or a newly reconfigured org chart to succeed. For organizational change to deliver the competitive performance and inspired workforce you envision, you need to address the WHOLE picture – your strategy, your organization, and your leadership." Navalent Website It was interesting and fun to talk with Ron Carrucci and benefit from his perspective and humor regarding leadership. His ability to discuss the highs and lows of organization transformation and facing leadership challenges impressed me because he is not saying the same old things so many leadership consultants say. I think you'll enjoy his down-to-earth candor and believe he provides a platter full of food for thought.  Get the freebie ebook from Navalent here: Transformation By Navalent Read Ron Carrucci's Harvard Business Review article here:  4 Ways Lying Becomes Normal at a Company Contact Ron and discuss how he might assist your org
