Synopsis

Back To The Podcast is a new and alternative look at all things to do with movies. Hosted by Byron and Bear, two huge movie lovers, in each episode we will discuss anything and everything about movies from 50 years ago up to the present day. We will also keep you up to date with whats worth keeping an eye out for in the not too distant future. Going in to details regarding everything from plot lines, to plot holes, actors and characterisation, score and sound, set design and cinematography. If you're as crazy about movies as we are, then this is the place for you. We will agree, we will disagree, and will geek out, all while doing our best to keep you entertained.

Both being huge fans of the original two films, it's safe to neither of us were impressed with this latest offering and we both do our best to come to terms with the fact that this is not only the end of what was once a great franchise but now the franchise has tipped the balance to having far more bad films in it than good ones. This film felt a bit like a mess and trying to achieve too many things. Not only were they trying to pay tribute to the originals but they obviously wanted to take the universe into a new direction and future. We discuss why we thing they failed.

Today we take a look at Captain Marvel, the seemingly invincible superhero played by Brie Larson and who looks to be the newest important member of the Avengers franchise. A stand alone origin story that has had both good and bad press and still made a ton of money. With Avengers Endgame around the corner this is probably relevant but we try to tackle the good and bad bits of this film. And we couldn't ignore the fact that we had received a brand new Star Wars trailer a few days before we recorded so couldn't resist the urge to have a quick chat about the upcoming episode 9, hitting cinemas this December.
