The story of Lazarus' death and resurrection is rich with theological implications of how God govern his creation and works in the stories of those whom he loves. God is for God first, but this does not negate the fact that he is for those whom he loves and we must remember when we can't see him working in our story the way we hoped, he is still working and wants to take us deeper than we would allow ourselves to go. John 11:1-57

Followers of Christ have been given the privilege of proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ to those who do not know him or have not heard about him. Jesus said, 'I have other sheep that are not of this flock.'. This is a call to go out and bring others to him, but often Christian's are hesitant to do this. In this message we look at the urgency of this message and what we must understand about ourselves in order to have the confidence to step out and proclaim this message. John 10:16, Acts 1:8

When Jesus declared 'I am the good shepherd' he was comparing himself to every 'shepherd' who had come before him and who would come after him. In this sermon based on John 10:1-18 we look at the deep historical context behind the role of shepherding in Israel and then examine why Jesus is the GOOD shepherd.

Truth has come under fire in our culture and has become viewed as subjective, rather than objective; but the reality of our world is that there is truth and it is an objective truth given from God to his creation. In this sermon, we examine Jesus' words 'The Truth will set you free' and consider, what is truth? And what does Jesus mean when he said it will set us free? Free from what? Based on John 8:30-38

'Who's Your One?' Is an initiative by the North American Mission Board to partner with churches in seeing each person engage evangelism with one person who is apart from Christ. As we launch this initiative we discuss five characteristics of a disciple of Jesus and challenge each person to choose ONE person they will pray for and share the gospel with over the coming weeks.

On Sanctity of Life Sunday we tackle the difficult topic of abortion. This year we look specifically at the practice of eugenics; why this practice is evil and the need for the gospel in the midst of a culture that has given itself over to the killing of children. John 9:1-3

John 7:53-8:11 is believed not to have originally been included in John's gospel. In this message we examine what has lead to this belief and what followers of Christ should do with this section of scripture. We then unpack the scripture and use it as a diving board into the rest of God's word to examine the truths about Jesus as displayed in these verses.

Just because we know certain truths doesn't mean we have applied those truths to our lives. This is the difference between knowledge (knowing) and wisdom (applying). Christmas Eve sermon, entitled 'Unto Us'.

Many people fear where they stand with God and this fear is heard in questions and comments such as 'Can I possibly be acceptable to God?', 'Am I truly saved?', 'God wouldn't want me.'. This week we consider some of the lies that drive this fear through the lives of the shepherd's to whom the angel appeared and how the news the angel of the Lord brought is the answer to breaking this fear off our lives. Luke 2:8-11

The fear of what people think is one of the most common and difficult fears to break off of our lives. Unfortunately, as a culture, we have bought into the lie that what others think about us is important. The fear of man, as the bible calls it, will hinder us from fearing the Lord as we should and following him with deep conviction. This week, we look at the Angel of the Lord appearing to Joseph and consider how the fear of man could have caused Joseph to miss the immense blessing the Lord laid before him in the form of a son.

The Angel appeared to Mary and said, "Fear Not..." Mary was greatly troubled and tried to discern what kind of greeting this would be. Fear is a major struggle for most people. It keeps us from stepping out and stepping into all God has for us. One of those fears is the fear of the unknown; the fear of 'what if..'. This week, we use Mary's meeting with the angel to highlight this fear and how we can conquer it. Luke 1:26-38

Jesus attends the annual Feast of Booths and shows the people of Israel how he is the fulfillment of all they are celebrating. John 7:1-24

We live in a culture of offence that is quickly giving over to a culture of rage. The issue of offence is first seen in the story of Cain and Abel and has been an issue of the human heart since the fall. When Jesus speaks to the crowds after the miracle of the feeding of the 5000, the crowd found his words offensive and intolerable leading to the question: Do You Take Offence at this? John 6:59-71

Following the Feeding of the 5000, Jesus gives a discourse to the crowd, teaching them what the miracle reveals about Him. The crowd was unable to understand and recognize Jesus correctly because they were focused on following Him for their own wants and needs and what Jesus could do for them. John 6:22-40

The feeding of the five thousand is the only miracle that is included in all four gospel accounts which speaks to the significance of it. In Part one of a two part look at this miracle we unpack John 6:1-15 and consider the disciples lack of faith leading up to the miracle and how their struggle to see past the natural limitations of their situation reflects our own.

After the healing at the Pool of Bethesda, persecution against Jesus by the Jews increased. Jesus attempted to explain his position as the son of God to the Jews in a discourse and shared four reasons why he is equal with God without threatening His authority. This week we unpack Jesus' discourse and look at the four aspects he shares of the relationship between God the Father and God the Son.

Just as Jesus confronts the Jews about the Sabbath in the healing of the man at the pool of Bethesda, he will confront us in our lives; exposing long held beliefs, traditions and activities that are contrary to his word.
