Saeleens Sickening Mixtapes

I revisited my BCCO mix to record an extended version for my podcast. This expanded cut allows the narrative to breathe further, opening additional spaces for movement, tension, and release. Rather than revising the original intention, the extension deepens it, letting the mix unfold beyond its initial frame and follow its own logic of duration and resonance. Please enjoy it as much as I did while mixing it!

ALLOU, from the Greek for “elsewhere”, explored how trans artists continue to expand the language of electronic music: five visions, five approaches, five trans musicians reshaping rhythm, sound, and identity on Hamburg’s dancefloor. My set was conceived as a homage to my younger self, to the moment I first began experimenting with abstract IDM and the desire to build new sonic architectures beyond Western rhythm and narrative. It reflects my ongoing vision: to deconstruct the known, to let rhythm breathe in unfamiliar ways, and to create something unbound. This recording is an extended studio version developed from the original live set. It revisits the material with more time and space, allowing the ideas, textures, and sense of “elsewhere” that ALLOU was meant to evoke to fully unfold.

Hawaa means desire in Arabic. It is a longing that burns, glows, transforms. When I was invited once again to play for the Arab queer community of Hamburg, I felt a deep joy, an affirmation, a return. This set is my offering. It is a sonic journey drenched in desire, soaked in love, and ignited by heat. From slow sensual pulses to ecstatic eruptions, these sounds are for every body that knows longing, every heart that resists erasure, every spirit that insists on joy. After many requests to share my set from the Queeriental Party at Kampnagel, I’ve finally mixed it down and uploaded it! It was a truly magical night that brought back memories of the Leilasia parties in the early 2000s – a vibrant blend of Mediterranean pop and pulsating electronic beats. I hope you enjoy this mix as much as I loved playing it for all my beautiful habibis on the dancefloor. The artwork shows the beautiful Raj Rouge and Sheikha. Love you both so much!

On the dazzling night of Transtronica Icons: A Night for Suzy, Saeleen Bouvar unleashed together with Hausvrau on the mic with Live Vocals an unforgettable musical journey in honor of Suzy, the transcendent icon of the evening from Beirut. This night celebrated trans brilliance with an electrifying mix of sensuality, rhythm, and rebellion. This set features a fierce lineup of trans artists such as Valeria Vix, Pabllo Vittar, and Hausvrau, seamlessly blending Latinx beats, oriental melodies, and the soaring anthems of hyperpop. The vibe was unapologetically sexy, wildly passionate, and alive with queer energy, creating a soundscape where tradition and futurism collided in perfect harmony. Very thrilled to share the last part of my House Odyssey Trilogy showcasing the past, the present and the future of House Music. This set, played for the Voices4Berlin for the Trans Day of Visibility 2024 starts off with a 90s house banger enriched and thickened with latin rhythms, honouring the latina trans queens of the 90s and today, finishing with a travel back in time to highlight the early 80s latin influence in House Music. Please have a ton of fun with this set.

After a long time, I decided to continue to post my sets again. This one is a very special one, because it is partly the set I played at the TRANSTRONICA festival 2023, although without the sickening vocals of Hausvrau. It is a trip through the 90s, a wild ride through House, Breakbeat and 90s Rave.

My latest set for the Queer Bcademy is a journey through 80s and 90s House. It has the feel of the old school House parties filled with black and latino queers enjoying their existence! Have a lot of fun with it!

This is my set from the Vogelball 2022! It was my very first time playing there and my very first time, the crowd was going absolutely crazy from the first second of it! The TRANSTRONICA Festival was the first ever electronic music festival with an all trans* lineup. As the curator and founder, I set myself on the last evening, called "Celeste". It is about time to summarise my set filled with what I would call is 100% Saeleen Bouvar: sickening beats, oriental influences, Acid sounds and melodies to die for. It is a non stop dance mix, so please have fun with it.

Let´s celebrate the end of 2021 with a Hi NRG mix I played back @PARKS for the Feminist Futures Salon. It is an hommage to the old gay club sound which was shaped by the queer icons Sylvester James and Patrick Cowley. Hi NRG will always be connected with the tragedy of the Aids pandemic, which took so many queer lives too soon. This mix highlights some of the most important tracks of that time and coats them with a swirl of Electroclash, which itself is a revival of the old gay disco club sound.

For the three days event "There is no satisfaction" @PARKS, Hamburg, I was asked to play a 1 hour set. Unfortunately, I was interrupted by the police who asked us to stop the music now. The audience loved the set so much, that I promised to mix it at home with all of its glory. So, here you have the whole set as it was planned plus another 20 minutes extra material. A mixture of Chicago House, Acid House and some Techno which blends in perfectly to create another hommage to Black and Queer and Trans Excellence. Enjoy it to the fullest!

Here you have my performance at the alternative pride event in Hamburg if there hadn´t be any interruptions. It is a wild ride on House and Techno tracks spiced up with Acid Gems and Oriental Belly Dance Beats. Oozing Queerness in all of its glory, wishing you a safe and happy pride!

For my birthday month, where I will accomplish my 44th year on earth, I was asked to take over the POSSYCAST#44. Here you have my latest set, which I played at the Queer Bcademy´21. It is a tribute to the Latina Queens of House Music, especially Liz Torres whose tracks have always been dear to my heart. The set starts with early house tracks from the 80s, ends in the 90s and closes with the first Latina woman who became an international pop star and LGBTQ icon. Please have fun with it!

This mix is a remake of the set I made for @sicnalradio. Because of the very bad sound quality, I decided to re-mix it at my little home studio. I normally wanted to wait a bit, but the urgent case of a POC trans woman in need forces me to publish it now. Due to the lockdown restrictions she is experiencing a terrible foreclosure, which has led her to current viral threat, in lack of any resource in order to pay her bills, we are making an effort to raise some money so that she can continue to have shelter, electricity and water until travel is open and she can to continue her struggle for survival. Most of us have found ourselves in a similar situation and for many trans people this precariousness never ceases. Et voilà a very unpretentious compilation of some beloved pieces of mine. The result is a very soothing journey through the joys of classical music combined with pioneer IDM tracks, that always kept me good company. I hope you enjoy it while studying or concentrating.
