Well it's been a little while, hasn't it? With all these bank holidays we've been treated to I've finally got round to starting the podasts up again. Show 56 kicks off with some fantastic brass band action courtesy of the Hackney Colliery Band who have put out a couple of amazing 7"s recently - so track those down! We carry on with a selection of jazz and funk from Ramsey Lewis, Marva Whitney and a modern classic from the Quantic Soul Orchestra. Hope you like it!

Never thought that that the Black Eyed Peas made good music? Show 55 kicks off with a reminder that they could once make credible hip hop with some delightful nu-soul from frontman Will.I.Am. Such a shame about the ringtones and McMusic that pass for their current output! We continue on in a downtempo and mellow mood through an eclectic selection of hip hop, classic soul, columbian and disco records before finishing off where we began with a short medley of sublime nu-soul. A belated merry new year to one and all and we kick off this year's podcasts with an hour long mix containing some of my favourites from the last year. Starting off once again with the awesome cover of "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" we journey through reggae, afro, soul, breaks and beats. Also, look out for the cheeky cover version of Britney Spears' "Toxic" near the end!

It's the last show before christmas so why not kick off with a funk cover of this year's christmas number 1. Australian outfit, The Apples take on Rage Against the Machine in a satisfyingly brassy manner. We then start to up the tempo with a bit more funk and latin before concluding with one of my favourite tunes from the past couple of years - Zed Bias' remix of the already masssive 'Sahara' by Soil & Pimp Sessions. Ho ho ho, and stuff..

We kick off with another killer from the Hot Coins 'Valient Truth EP' which featured in show 48. We then continue into some huge bass wobbling UK rap from Profisee & Eprom and follow on into a range of old favourites and rounding off with everyone's favourite Bill Withers tune!

Crikey has it really been that long since the last show? to make up for it we've got another half an hour of crackers kicking off with a classic from Glen McCrae. We then take a short trip up soul lane via the epic 'Girl Your Need a change of mind' and the well known surefire dancefloor filler from the Jackson Sisters. We round things off with a fantastic mashup of Amerie, Massive Attack and the Rolling Stones!
