  • Episode 5: Party Town B.C.

    17/04/2017 Duration: 45min

**Explicit language/content warning** Mountain Mythic is back with its biggest installment yet. Join us in our luxurious limousine as we take a closer look at Whistler’s infamous party culture: where it’s been, what’s driving it now and the darker side of the let-loose lifestyle. We welcome legendary local DJs Ace MacKay-Smith (aka DJ Foxy Moron) and Scott Arkwell (aka Vinyl Richie) into the party limo to share some of the wisdom they’ve gleaned from decades behind the turntables, before hearing from a pair of people who know all too well the high cost that sometimes comes with drug use. Featuring music from Red Chair (recorded live at The Longhorn on Saturday, April 8) and Matt Hoyles (live from the Crystal Lounge on the same night). Check them out at www.redchairmusic.ca and www.matthoyles.com.

We welcome Pique sports editor Dan Falloon and arts editor Cathryn Atkinson into our temporary mobile studio to share some thoughts on where we’ve been and we’re headed. Be sure to subscribe on iTunes and follow along as Mountain Mythic aims for new heights in 2017. Music heard in this episode: “Heavy Life” by Black Flamingo and “Ginger Park” by 50 Foot Wave. www.freemusicarchive.org.
