Episodes

  • Ep. 4 - Tresspasser

    02/02/2017 Duration: 23min

We're super excited about this episode - it's for a comic that we have just discovered ourselves called "Tresspasser", coming from the creative team Justin M Ryan (@JustinMRyan87), Kristian Rossi (@Kristian_Rossi) and DC Hopkins (@dc_hopkins) and publiched through Alterna Comics. At the time of publishing this episode this team are raising money through their Kickstarter campaign to take this from digital to print, so if you want to get involved in that and be one of the first to receive this comic as a hard copy have a look and get involved. If you can't wait that long - we've also linked to their Comixology page where you can buy the first volume for as little as $1.99 as a digital download.

  • Ep. 3 - Southern B******s

    22/01/2017 Duration: 17min

Southern Bastards is published by Image Comics, one of the powerhouses in the industry. We've been wanting to re-imagine one of their comic franchises as an audiobook for a while, and really enjoyed having a crack at this.  There's an underlying tension in this narrative. An inevitability waiting to rollout before the reader. If you enjoy this audio comic we hope you'll check out the original here https://imagecomics.com/comics/series/southern-bastards where you can buy the first issue for just $1.99. As an advisory, as you've probably guessed by the title there is some bad language in this episode, so it might be worth putting headphones on before continuing if you're around the kids. • Ep. 2 - My Spirit is a Roaring Sea

    22/12/2016 Duration: 12min

When we started working on the PopBang podcast we always knew we wanted to work on a Zen Pencils comic, and we're so pleased to have the opportunity with Gavin Aung Than's original work "My Spirit is a Roaring Sea". These comics are publicly available on his site Zen Pencils and we encourage everyone (literally everyone we meet) to follow him on his social feeds. If you love his work - you can contribute to his patreon page here. My Spirit is a Roaring Sea is not explicit, but there are themes including abduction and abuse that may be disturbing to some listeners, so proceed with caution.

  • Ep. 1 - The Goon and The Family Grave

    22/12/2016 Duration: 32min

In this episode we’ve re-imagined the first volume of one of our favourite franchises from Dark Horse, The Goon. You can purchase this comic from Dark Horse for as little as $1.99. The Goon, written and drawn by Eric Powell, first starting appearing in comics in the late 90's, and was eventually picked up by Dark Horse in 2003. Now a firm Fan Favourite, the Goon universe mixes the comical, the violent and the supernatural.  Please note that whilst this episode isn't explicit, it does have the occasional bad word and innuendo, so if there are children around you may want to pop on the headphones before continuing.
