At minimum, Im hoping to create something of value for you, the listener, and to provide an outlet for the great people of our communities to share more of their wisdom.

    In this episode, Jordon speaks with Jens von Bergmann. Jens is the co-creator of ‘Mountain Math’, which is “an independent Vancouver-based company centred around data analysis, management and visualization,” and ‘Census Mapper’, which is an online visualization tool that (among other things) allows people to “create interactive Canada-wide custom maps based on census data”. He holds a PhD in Mathematics, and he taught for several years at the Michigan State University, and the Universities of Calgary and Notre Dame. They talk about open data, housing, and life as a “cargo bike dad”.

    Dr. Teschke is an Academic Occupational Hygienist at the School of Population and Public Health at UBC. Her research has covered common workplace injuries like back injuries, the occupational risk factors for parkinson’s disease, and the relationship between water quality and gastrointestinal illness. She’s also the founder of the Cycling in Cities Research Program at UBC that has churned out a wealth of publications on bicycling safety and the best ways to motivate more people to ride.
