Today's guest is Peter Belden a Newport Beach lifeguard turned founder of the Board Club. We talk about his upbringing in the water, his time playing water polo at Newport Harbor and UCLA which culminated in a National Championship. We discuss Ben Carlson, a lifeguard who drowned during a rescue and how that affected the community and ultimately led to a journey to Indonesia and Australia. We talk about the day he had the epiphany to start the board club. We go on to talk about the current state of the board club, the challenges, successes and the future as well.
