Synopsis
Back To The Podcast is a new and alternative look at all things to do with movies. Hosted by Byron and Bear, two huge movie lovers, in each episode we will discuss anything and everything about movies from 50 years ago up to the present day. We will also keep you up to date with whats worth keeping an eye out for in the not too distant future. Going in to details regarding everything from plot lines, to plot holes, actors and characterisation, score and sound, set design and cinematography. If you're as crazy about movies as we are, then this is the place for you. We will agree, we will disagree, and will geek out, all while doing our best to keep you entertained.

Episode 90 - Ready Player One
08/06/2018 Duration: 01h01minWe are back with a look at Steven Spielberg 32nd film, Ready Player One. A effects heavy adventure film that came out in the Easter holidays this year. With more hidden Easter eggs than the easter bunnies closet this film has film lovers foaming at the mouth. As well as these extras we also take a look at how this film could very easily mimic our society and how we might be looking into our future. After that we take a look at a series that was released on YouTube Red of all places and is set thirty years after the events of the first Karate Kid movie. This series is called Cobra Kai and features a lot of the same cast from the original film. Quite a few 80's throwbacks in this episode. Enjoy!

Episode 88 - Black Panther - Everything The Light Touches, Is Wakanda
18/05/2018 Duration: 59minWelcome back movie fans, returning this week with a review on Black Panther. The film that shook the world back in Febuary and smashed a ton of records and has quite possibly re-shaped many films in the future. We take a look at the casting of this film as well as the not one great villain, but two great villains. Behind the glossy production design of Wakanda we also delve into the James Bond style technology and Q-type gadgets gifted to us by Shuri. After our chat about Black Panther, we also take a look at the feud taking place in a current American TV show and why it seems that many other TV shows are dropping like flies. Lots to get through. Episode 87 - The Greatest Showman

This week we see it released onto Blu-Ray and DVD and it is expected to break even more records. With an insanely catchy soundtrack and a fantastic cast, we take a look at what made audiences return again and again to see this magical film. We don't do many musicals at Back To The Podcast but most of the ones we have reviewed have starred Hugh Jackman. Enjoy!! Episode 85 - Darkest Hour

WE decided to take a look at Darkest Hour released at the end of last year which saw Gary Oldman to go on and win his first Oscar for best actor for portraying Winston Churchill in this gritty, political drama about the first few months of Churchill in office as Prime Minister. This was a wonderful film and nice to see something a bit different on our screens that can still be very poignant today. Enjoy! Episode 84 - The Walking Dead: All Out War OR All Out Bore??

Episode 82 - The Cloverfield Paradox

This week we look at The Cloverfield Paradox, which is the third instalment of the Cloverfield series of films. This is a series that we have grown to love quite a bit after the phenomenal 10 Cloverfield Lane a couple of years ago. It looks to be that Netflix has taken the reigns of these films now so we are hopeful for more wonderful things to come in the future. In this instalment, it is the first one set in space and a ship gets caught up in a multiverse blackhole which causes chaos around the ship. With a fantastic cast and brilliant production design we discuss at length what makes these films surprise us time and time again. Episode 81 - Everybody Loves Paddington

The sequel sees an all star cast show their love for the bear and we discuss just why this film has had such a success. Episode 78 - The Shape Of Water
23/02/2018 Duration: 40minWith a surprising film for us to take a look at, this week we have a look at the mesmerising The Shape Of Water directed by visual genius, Guillermo Del Toro. With this film receiving the most nominations for this years Oscars, we thought we had to take a look. With a primary plot of a love story between a working class lady and a unknown creature, this was enough of a story to keep us entertained but had some wonderful underpinned secondary plots and one of the best villains we've seen in a while. In this episode we take a look at the remake of Stephen Kings IT that came out in the Autumn of 2017. There wasn't much about this film we didn't like, so we had plenty to chat about from the portrayal of the characters and the production design.
