For the past few days, Lakeith Stanfield, the enormously likable actor from things like Atlanta and Sorry To Bother You, has been engaged in a public feud with the radio host Charlamagne Tha God. And since then, the whole thing has expanded into rap music, despite neither one of them being actual full-time rappers. Last week, in a since-deleted Instagram post, Stanfield described various popular black media outlets, including Charlamagne’s show The Breakfast Club, of being “anti black.” As Complex reports, Stanfield wrote this: It’s a fact that a lot of these platforms are usually or tend to be feeding grounds for negative reinforcement toward BLACK “nonconformists”. Oscar-winning actor Mo’Nique filed a lawsuit against Netflix on Thursday, accusing the streaming service of gender and racial discrimination for offering her far less than what it paid other comedians for a proposed special. The star has alleged that Netflix's offer of $500,000 for an hourlong stand-up special two years ago, compared to the millions paid to other comedians, “perpetuated the pay gap suffered by black women. Black women are typically paid 61 cents for every dollar paid to white men, according to Lean In, a site that campaigns for more equitable workplaces. “Mo’Nique objected to Netflix’s discriminatory pay offer, pointed out how it was discriminatory and asked Netflix to do the right thing by negotiating fair pay with her,” the lawsuit states. “In response, Netflix did the opposite. It dug its heels in the ground, refused to negotiate fairly and stood behind its discriminatory offer.” A spokesperson for Netflix told BuzzFeed the company plans to fight the lawsuit. Dame Dash is tired of TMZ sniffing through his bank account. Earlier today, TMZshared a story stating that the hip hop mogul was in a dire financial situation. According to their report, Dame isn't able to keep up on payments from ongoing business lawsuits and claimed that he's said he has no salary. "My income streams have all been garnished... and it is very difficult to address the mounting bills until I receive some relief from the courts," TMZ reported Dame as saying.  

Evander Holyfield appeared on Mike Tyson’s podcast this past week, and it’s so good to hear that they can laugh through their differences. TMZ Sports shared a clip of Holyfield explaining why he chose to figure Tyson for biting his ear off. “People keep asking, ‘How are you gonna forgive somebody?'” Holyfield said. “I say, everything that ever happened, at some point in time, I did it. Mike bit me, I say I bit somebody too … it just wasn’t on TV. I bit a guy in his shoulder. He dropped me, and I didn’t know when you had a concussion, you’ll bite too.”

Nipsey Hussle's impact continues to manifest months after his untimely murder at the hands of Eric Holder. After the revelation that Nip had called Holder a "snitch" emerged, veteran gangbanger-turned-manager Wack 100 offered his own controversial take on the matter. Chalking it up to "street rules," Wack doubled down on the No Jumper podcast, detailing how Nip was speaking to a "shooter" and might have expected violent retribution.  "In this jungle, everybody is not for everything. Everybody is not the shooter, everybody not the fighter, some are the hustlers," explained Wack. Popular Philly rapper Dark Lo was arrested today by officers believed to be federal agents. So far the potential charges against him are unknown. Dark Lo is famous for his music, and for being the right-hand man to notorious Philly rapper and gangster AR-AB. AR-AB, real name Abdul Ibrahim West, is currently on trial in federal court, he's facing drug and distribution charges against him. If convicted of all charges, he faces life in prison. A grand jury indictment released last month accused the rapper, and eight other men of possession with intent to distribute heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine, and related offenses. And according to multiple sources, a person close to AR-AB is believed to be snitching on him at trial. AR-AB and members of his OBH crew were picked up by federal agents nearly a year ago. Master P reportedly had a less-than-stellar performance when he brought his No Limit reunion tour to the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis last Saturday (Nov. 2) According to a report published by The St. Louis American on Mon., Nov. 4, Master P and the reunited No Limit Soldiers, which consists of Mystikal, Mia X, Silkk the Shocker and Fiend, reportedly gave a “lackluster” performance that caused the audience to boo at them in disgust. The publication says the audience delivered boos several times during the concert. Outside of Mia X and Mystikal’s energetic sets, the writer, who attended the show, wrote that the other artists’ performances were underwhelming. Master P and the No Limit gang reportedly closed the show with a rendition of “Make Em Say Uhh.” While the reviewer says there was booing at various points of the show, there isn't much in the way of footage that captures the booing at the part of the show she mentions. Lord Jamar's ongoing issues with Eminem continue. On Tuesday (Nov. 5), the Brand Nubian rapper posted vintage photos of the Shady Records CEO, who is wearing what fans say is a Will Smith mask. While the mask bears no resemblance to traditional images of Blackface, that didn't stop Jamar from making his claim that Em was wearing a mask depicting the racist makeup. "Hey @eminem please put this in context for me...I’m trying to understand why you’d be clowning in a BLACKFACE MASK backstage at the MTV AWARDS? Angie Martinez is in recovery after suffering injuries in a horrific car crash. On Monday morning (Nov. 4), the voice of New York used her social media accounts to inform her fans that she's recuperating after being involved in a severe car accident. "I’ve always believed in angels and mine was with me the other morning. I was in a severe car accident and sustained a fractured lumbar and shattered vertebrae,” Martinez said in separate Instagram and Twitter posts. The syndicated radio personality, who resigned from Hot 97 and made the move to Power 105.1 in 2014, hasn't released any other details from the accident, so it is unknown where it happened. At the moment, all she's saying is that she's doing her best to recover as quickly as possible. Famous Dex went down in the middle of a club performance, and appeared to suffer a seizure. The rapper was onstage for a gig at 1 OAK in WeHo in the early morning hours of Friday when we're told he fainted ... and video shows a couple of guys cradling him by his legs and shoulders as he shakes. The L.A. Country Fire Department tells TMZ ... it received a call about a person who had suffered a seizure at the club a little before 2 AM. They arrived minutes later, but never transported the patient to the hospital. We're told the people who rushed to Dex's aid carried him backstage, but it's unclear if they had medical training. It's also unclear why he wasn't taken to a hospital. We've also reached out to the rapper's team ... no word back, so far. Nearly a year ago, Famous Dex fans were worried about his health when he passed out in the middle of a livestream. We were told at the time he was working to kick drugs after the incident.  

MIAMI - South Florida rapper Kodak Black was involved in a prison fight in Miami on Tuesday night that left one guard hospitalized. The fight which started between two inmates occurred at the Federal Detention Center at 33 Northeast 4th Street. The rapper, whose real name is now Bill Kapri, got into the fight with another inmate and kicked the guard in the groin while he was attempting to break up the altercation. The injured guard was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery. His current condition is unknown. Kapri pleaded guilty to federal weapons charges and was in the detention center as he awaits sentencing scheduled for Nov. 13. The rapper could face up to eight years in prison. Prosecutors originally charged Black with crimes including falsifying information on federal forms to buy four firearms from a Miami-area gun shop on two separate occasions.  Authorities said one of the guns was found at the scene of a March shooting in Pompano Beach.

After months of deliberation and several different pushes for reform, the NCAA Board of Governors has unanimously (and unexpectedly) passed a vote to push toward college athletes benefiting “from the use of their name, image and likeness,” per Ralph D. Now, the Atlanta legend has taken a swing by The Breakfast Club to reflect on some of his recent endeavors. First off, he reflects on his viral "Top 50 Rappers" list, which led to a phone call from both Killer Mike and Jay-Z. Though Mike seemed happy to be "in last place on first-class," Hov seemed interested in his placement at number two behind Pac. "We were talking about something completely unrelated, and he said "oh, by the way," laughs T.I. "You really believe that?" Tip stood by his decision, maintaining Hov as "the greatest rapper alive. Over time, he's eventually going to assume that position." He compares Pac to the "hip-hop Michael Jackson," stressing that Pac's name will ring bells on a global scale while Jay hasn't quite accomplished that level of recognizability.

In an upcoming interview with the Rap Radar Podcast, Cam'ron reflects on that time, why he chose to respond the way he did, and why he regrets how he went about things. "I'm a real big Nas fan. There has been quite a bit of controversy following the death of Nipsey Hussle. The public is still trying to make sense of the situation, and his family continues to mourn him. But this didn’t stop Wack 100 for allegedly talking crazy about the slain rapper. Gossip of the City obtained audio of Wack going in on Nipsey saying he should’ve stayed in a rapper’s lane because that’s all he was. The clip was reportedly two minutes and thirteen seconds long and he even said his killer, Eric Holder known as Shitty Cuz in the streets, is the real gangster. The audio isn’t on the Internet but GOTC says Nip’s brother, Blacc Sam, and his bodyguard, J Roc, heard it. His bodyguard who is now retired, responded in an Instagram post. Gucci Mane is passionately addressing claims that he’s banned from Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. In a video shared on YouTube on Monday, Gucci, 39, sat down with Charlamagne Tha God in a clip titled Growth with Gucci: A Conversation with Gucci Mane and Charlamagne Tha God. The Game fires back at anyone suggesting that he's trying to exploit Nipsey Hussle's legacy for his new merch. Boxer Patrick Day died on Tuesday, days after suffering a traumatic brain injury during his match for the USBA super welterweight title in Chicago on Saturday. The 27-year-old fighter is now the fourth boxer to perish this year from injuries sustained in the ring. In July, two boxers — Maxim Dadashev, a 28-year-old Russian, and Hugo Alfredo Santillán, a 23-year-old from Argentina — died of brain injuries they received in fights. Dadashev died on July 23, four days after his light-welterweight fight in Maryland, while Santillán died five days after he collapsed following a fight in Buenos Aires. Then, in September, a Bulgarian boxer named Boris Stanchov died in the ring while fighting under his cousin’s boxing license in Albania, the Washington Post reported. This latest wave of fatalities has highlighted the intrinsic dangers that come with boxing, giving fuel to the case made by proponents that the sport should be banned. Police Chief Ed Kraus said earlier Tuesday that a gun was found in the room after authorities entered the home, but he added that "it makes sense that she would have a gun if she felt threatened or thought someone was in the backyard."
