Dr. Langston gives us several suggestions and thoughts on always pursuing growth and establishing that mindset. Dr. Lisa Langston was a two-sport standout, a four-year (1983-86) letter winner in women's basketball, and earned two letters in track and field at Texas A&M. She earned first-team All-SWC honors in 1985 and was the first Texas A&M selection as the SWC Player of the Week during the 1984 season. Off the hardwood and the track, she was an All-Academic team member, earning her bachelors of science degree. She received her master's from Tarleton State in 1998 and her doctorate in 2010 from Texas Women's University.     Coach Keeney started the Hebron High School volleyball program in 1999 in the school's first year. A graduate of Northeast Missouri State University (B.S.E.); she played four years of volleyball and one year of softball as a student-athlete. Karin has dedicated her career to coaching for 30 years with the last 23 years as a Head Coach. She has earned four state championships at Hebron High School (2004, 2010, 2015, 2016) as well as numerous district titles, bi-district titles and state tournament appearances. Coach Keeney dives into some of the key aspects that have allowed the Volleyball program at Hebron to win four state championships and how to leverage parents involvement in the program.

    After 22 years of coaching, Karen Funk moved to the NEISD athletic office in 2000 as an Assistant Athletic Director and in 2011 became the Director of Girl’s Sports. In 2014 Karen Became the first female Athletic Director in San Antonio's history. Karen has been a member of the hosting state conference committee twice and worked for THSADA as the secretary from Spring of 2006-2010. She then served as the Region 8 Director and vice-president. In 2013, Karen was named THSADA's Athletic Director of the year. In this Interview, Karen tells us more about the ways North East ISD has been giving back to their community and how that has impacted their students, coaches, and schools.
