The news of Texas covered today includes:Our Lone Star story of the day: Governor Abbott showed off Texas new border wall construction Saturday in Starr County and there is much we need to review and consider about Texas’ efforts on the border. One thing we must evaluate is the effectiveness of programs Texas has already implemented. How can we claim the “arrest and jail” policy is working when it has not proved a deterrent to illegal crossing? That was the promise, that as many would not come if they knew they’d be jailed but we are jailing them and yet seeing all-time records in illegal crossings. As to the wall, is it likely to make much of a difference giving it will not connect to federal segments and sits a mile away from the Rio Grande? Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.Texas solicitor general sides with land owners in the case before the Supreme Court of the Texas Central

  • Episode 2828: Abbott can begin fix of court ruling on Texas election fraud prosecution but will he? | Newspaper wants Texas guns locked up – Pratt on Texas 12/16/2021

    17/12/2021 Duration: 42min

The news of Texas covered today includes:Our Lone Star story of the day: The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, our supreme court for criminal law matters, rules that the Texas Attorney General may not prosecute election fraud cases without a referral from local prosecutors. While the decision is sound constitutionally, it guts prosecuting election fraud in much of Texas because local Leftist district attorneys will not look at cases and certainly will not refer them to the A.G. for prosecution. The issue is easily fixed by Abbott calling a Special Session of the legislature to pass a constitutional amendment that will then need a vote of the people. Will Abbott lead and take care of this or will he let it slide by effectively ending most prosecution of election fraud in the 2022 November election? Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.The Dallas Morning News editorial board comes out

  • Episode 2827: Ignore claims of using Texas “mechanism” on abortion to go after gun rights | CPS acts to protect itself, not children – Pratt on Texas 12/15/2021

    16/12/2021 Duration: 43min

The news of Texas covered today includes:Our Lone Star story of the day: The press is full of stories of how others are going to use the Texas “mechanism” of private enforcement through lawsuits for the Fetal Heartbeat law to go after gun rights and other issues. It’s all balderdash. These are stories to frighten people into opposing the Texas law on abortions. The “mechanism” of private enforcement only relates to breaking a law and won’t even apply in the case of abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected if that law is struck down by the courts. It simply cannot be used to enforce something that is not a legally passed and binding law. For example, California can’t simply decide that citizens can sue gun makers for the use of guns in crimes because such is counter the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. Any such cases would not stand review by courts if they attempt to punish someone for something protected by law. And in the case of abortion, despite what many think, there is no federal law maki

Abortionists are “apoplectic” but the court did allow for some challenges to the law to continue in federal and state court. Meanwhile a state district judge has left the law in effect but ruled against the citizen lawsuit enforcement mechanism which means that issue will climb the ladder to the state supreme court. Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.So much for the so-called “vaccine” that is supposedly “effective” as all the propaganda insists. CDC data says about 75% of those with the new Omicron mutation are fully vaccinated. Much in the border news stack including more evidence of a sickening sense of entitlement by those entering the U.S. illegally. A good statement from Texas Speaker of the House Phelan on backin
