Genesis 50 – After the funeral of Jacob, Joseph's brothers face the consequences of unresolved guilt. Joseph forgave them 40 years ago because he saw his circumstances through the eyes of God. This story reminds us of the rewards of a forgiving spirit and the consequences of unresolved guilt. Choose wisely how your past will write your story for the future.  

Genesis 49, 50 – Jacob leaves this world and focuses on his future. His family grieves his loss but continues with life. Death for God's Children is simply stepping from this world into an eternal world with our God and His children. As long as God allows us life in this world, He has a plan for us. Grief is necessary and a healthy process, but life here must go on. 

Genesis 49 – Jacob gives a blessing to all of his children. We need to use our words to give hope, encouragement, and a future to the children in our life. Kids need to know that they are loved and valued. We need to be their biggest cheerleader and commit to raising a generation that loves the Lord with all their heart, soul, and mind. Our job is to model that for them every day. 

Genesis 48 – Death is inevitable and part of life. We must always be ready and leave a legacy that benefits the people coming after us. Jacob honors God in his last days, and he focuses on the future. It is my prayer everyone is ready for life beyond this earth. My goal is to impact the world long after I have left it. 

Genesis 47:13-26 – In Genesis 47, we are given a unique insight into a leader's life. Joseph leads with integrity and discernment. He is willing to try new things and adapt to his changing world. God uses His servant to lead a pagan nation through a national crisis. God will use you this week if you allow Him.  Let Him use you to help people see Christ.  

Joshua 3,4  = This is how you will know that the living God is among you.  These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever.”  He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the LORD is powerful and so that you might always fear the LORD your God.

Genesis 46,47 – We are reminded that we are pilgrims on this earth.  This is not home, and we should never get comfortable enough to believe this is what life is about.  In every stage of our life, we must seek God.  It is vital to seek God’s plan and purpose for every stage of our life.  

Genesis 45- Joseph's view of life reminds us that there is a bigger purpose at work in our lives. Joseph spent over 20 years trusting God's plan and purposes for his life. He was faithful to God in every circumstance. This week, trust God in all the situations that come your way. 

Genesis 29 – The story of Rachel reminds us that we are all flawed, yet God still uses us. Rachel and Leah take their role as moms to help raise the next generation of Israelites. I pray that God will use each of us to raise the next generation to love God and others with their whole heart.

Genesis 44- Your choices impact those around you. Everyone can change and respond differently than they have in the past. The story of Joseph and the reunion with his brothers is a great reminder of the story of Jesus and the cross. It is my prayer that we each have the attitude of grace, love, forgiveness, and kindness that we see in the life of Joseph. 

Genesis 43- Joseph reminds us that forgiveness and grace are necessary to restore broken relationships. Someone has to be the Hero and start the process. Guilt plagued the brothers for their entire life, but Joseph refused to hold a grudge. Joseph does the right thing at the right time in the right way. I pray that we follow the same pattern in our life this week. 

May each of you celebrate the Risen Savior this day. It is my prayer that you know Jesus as your personal Savior. For those of you that are Christ-followers, it is my prayer that people see Christ in you this week. It is the only hope they have.  

Purpose 5 – God has called you to share Christ with others. God chose to use His people as the primary means of sharing the good news with the world. Be available this week and allow God to use you. Only eternity will reveal how God can use you to impact the world for His glory. 

Purpose 4- God has called you to serve Him. Serving God is the most significant investment you can make with your life. It produces meaning, joy, and purpose in life. To appreciate your life, you have to give it away. You are placed here to serve, not to be served. How much of your life will be spent this week ministering and helping others? That is the real test of your calling.  

Romans 8 - Purpose 3 – You were created to grow in Christ and become like Christ. Discipleship is learning to walk in a way that reflects Christ in all we do. God focuses on our character, not our comfort. His goal is for people to see Christ in our lives. This week God will use trials, troubles, temptation, and difficulties to develop our character. I pray that we live in the “Dust of our Rabbi” this week.   

Genesis 2-  Purpose 2 – You were created to love God’s people, His family. God created you to belong and fellowship with His family. The church is a place to learn how to love people as they are and work together to become what God intended. We do not go through life as a solo journey. We walk through life together, loving each other as Christ loved us. 

Mark 12:28-31 - Purpose 1 – You were made to love God. Genuine worship involves loving God with your heart, soul, and mind. God demonstrated His love to you and asks for a response from you. Love God and share that love with someone this week. 

God has called us to live our lives by responding correctly to his plan. He has invested time and energy in your life, and He has a clear purpose for your existence. I pray that each of us learn the purpose of our time on earth and invests in things that have eternal value.

Genesis 42:1-25 – Joseph and his brothers are tested. Joseph is forced to confront his past and is in a position to seek revenge. His brothers have to deal with the consequences of their choices. God works in the lives of everyone to accomplish His plan. What is God doing in your life to get your attention? How you respond to God will determine your future.
