Welcome to the first live episode of Beats, Beards & Brews! Eric, Evan and Dan meet up in Minneapolis for a very special recording (with a couple surprise guests). The bros talk "Frequently Asked Beard Questions" and how to answer them. Then they review rapper ScHoolboy Q's latest album, the Blank Face LP. Finally the three amigos (plus mystery guests) give their varying takes on Saugatuck Brewing Company's Blueberry Maple Stout. Drink every time someone says "pancakes" (wait for it).

The bros talk shop and review Parlour Von Kopp's trio of All Natural Wunder Bart Beard Oils (Original, Cedarwood and Minted blends) and his White Buffalo Beard Balm. Eric, Evan and Dan all share some interesting albums from 2016 including Rare Future's This Is Your Brain on Love, Diarrhea Planet's Turn to Gold and Holy Grail's Times of Pride and Peril. And Eric and Dan drink Brewery Ommegang's Abbey Ale, while Evan indulges in some Rosetta cherry ale. The Beats, Beards & Brews crew also debate how to properly determine the "butt feel" of a beer and go on to talk about a variety of butt-related things. They also struggle to pronounce "Ommegang," "dubbel" and "anise." Exchange of the Show: Evan: "You learn so many things on this podcast, Diarrhea Planet, anise flower... Dan and Eric take an in-depth look at the fully-loaded Honest Amish Beard Aid Kit. An album review of The Getaway by Red Hot Chili Peppers spurs a conversation on the latest in men's fashion trends, including the difference between cock socks and cock sleeves (and animal-inspired costume cock socks?). And Evan decides he might like mango after all, while drinking Clown Shoes' Mango American Kolsch—assuming there's actually a mango flavor in this beer, Evan and Dan seem uncertain, Eric definitely tastes the mango. Eric also questions the U.S. moon landings and the claim that Red Hot Chili Peppers released an album in 2011.

Eric and Dan take a ride on the Orient Express (aka they review The Beard Baron's spiced beard oil). Perfect for spice shop workers. The bearded to somewhat bearded trio then listens to Gojira's latest album Magma, which sees the band take a new direction. Finally, the guys share their opinions on Bell's non-traditional session ale, Oatsmobile. As per usual ... things get weird. OK, maybe a little weirder than usual. Eric and Dan try out Tiger-Tiger Ice Cream Beard Oil and Balm from Universal Beard, based out of Victoria, British Columbia (on the "craggy southern end" of Vancouver Island according to Wikipedia). Apparently the dessert blend of orange sherbet, vanilla ice cream and a ribbon of licorice is a Canadian staple. Evan suggests j.views' latest 401 Days for the album review, bringing some chill electronic hipster flair to the show. Lastly, the bros all get drunk on 9.5% abv Worthy Adversary from Fulton Brewery in Minneapolis, which drinks like an 8.5% and "doesn't go down like syrup," according to Evan. Oh, and there's some chatter about The Mighty Ducks too.

The tres hombres also check out Rob Zombie's ridiculously titled new album The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser and Dan typecasts all Zombie fans into weird porn and 70s movie watching basement dwellers with projectors. Finally the gang reviews a bevy of Bastard beers, including the original Arrogant Bastard Ale and Bourbon-Barrel Aged Arrogant Bastard Ale from Stone Brewing Co., in addition to Founders Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale. For the 11th episode of Beats, Beards & Brews, the gang (aka Eric) goes full Viking with reviews of Grimfrost's Resin & Hops and Jarl's Thistle beard oils -- and essentially deliver a full company overview (bone combs!), Evan and Dan discover a passion for Viking-themed death metal while reviewing Amon Amarth's latest Jomsviking, and everyone enjoys the malty goodness of Skull Splitter from Orkney Brewery.

In the 10th Anniversary Milestone edition of Beats, Beard & Brews, the gang goes to Chicago (in theme/spirit) and reviews some oils and wash from Windy City Beard Co. (shout-out to Aaron Powell for the awesome customer service!). Eric bashes on Into It. Over It., while Dan and Evan have lukewarm feelings about it. Everyone enjoys the complex flavors of Two Brothers Brewing Company. Dan wishes he had a brother. As the podcast nears double-digits in episode count, Eric, Evan and Dan share their film expertise while also reviewing Grave Before Shave Beard Wash, Anthrax's latest album For All Kings and Tallgrass Brewing Co.'s Top Rope IPA. Then the discussion sharply veers off course. If there's one takeaway from this podcast it's that Kurt Russell is the bomb in Bone Tomahawk.

Eric gives his overall impression of the Mad Viking Beard Co. line of products, after checking out its complete trial of oil and balms (Leather! Jager!). Evan makes the striking connection between Leon Bridges and Leon Robinson of Cool Runnings fame. Plus Dan, Evan and Eric all discuss Bridges' Grammy-nominated "Coming Home" album (and the Sam Cooke comparisons). Dan and Eric talk beard balm, the third step in the beard product/grooming journey after oil and stache wax, and review Grave Before Shave's Viking Blend Beard Balm (all natural balm, with no added scents). Evan, Dan and Eric review Bloc Party's latest "Hymns," which is in no way a holy experience. And the moment Eric has been waiting for ... everyone drinks Ghost Face Killah (ghost pepper beer) and you get to hear them bitch about it for 20+ minutes. But also sort of enjoy it. A lot of feelings on this one. Dan eats bread. *No laws were broken in the recording of this podcast.

Dan and Eric give their praise to Can You Handlebar's Primary Moustache Wax. Eric defends Dave Mustaine and tries to sell Dystopia, but Evan and Dan aren't buying. Welcome to the first Beats, Beards and Brews podcast of 2016. Dan explains how the podcast is ruining his life (and broke his computer). Dan and Eric recap their first beard competition experience. Eric, Evan and Dan share their favorite albums from 2015. Toppling Goliath beers (1492, Golden Nugget and pseudoSue) are drank.

Eric and Dan share their opinions on Black Rebel Beard Co.'s #4 scent, The Black Rebel Coffee. The gang has a lot to say about Baroness' latest album "Purple" during the music review portion of the pod. And the review of Stone Coffee Milk Stout gives the impression that Evan, Eric and Dan are organized enough to come up with a cohesive theme for the show. The guys also take sides in the Pancheros versus Chipotle debate (sort of).

Dan and Eric serve as the Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda to Evan's Luke Skywalker in beard training (we're talking old-school Star Wars to avoid spoilers). The boys all share their favorite Rush albums, but clearly Eric's is the superior pick. Eric also busts out a stunning vocal performance of his favorite Rush lick. Everyone but Evan has trouble finding some Molson, so they improvise ... with mixed results! Post-Show Notes: R&R Whisky, not as good as advertised.

The gang faces a major setback when Evan discovers he failed to record the first take of Episode #2, which clocked in at 40+ minutes. During that episode, the boys discussed whether having a beard makes you a hipster, tried to figure out if Sunn O)))'s latest album "Kannon" has any artistic merit, and finally, gave their thoughts on Bell's Winter White Ale, a seasonal brew from an iconic brewery. This is not that episode. In version "2.5" Eric and Dan drunkenly ridicule Evan for his grave mistake and it becomes unclear whether any amount of alcohol can repair this rift among friends. Oh, and they also discuss all the things mentioned above, in a way less eloquent manner, because screw it, they already did this once!
