Think about how you became a Christian. What were the events that happened in your life that are part of your story of faith? Every Christian has had an encounter with the living God of creation. This week Pastor Kevin will look at the story of Moses and how he put his faith in God. We will examine how God meets us and changes us in our relationship with Him. We also look forward to celebrating and honoring teachers and students as they get ready for another school year! We hope to see you on Sunday morning.

This Sunday we are beginning a new sermon series called STAND ALONE. As believers, we all understand that something beyond what we see exists, but it seldom feels experiential or real. It feels mystical, out of touch; overemphasized or ignored. At the end of the day most of us just don’t understand it. Join us, as Nigel Anderson unpacks some of these spiritual realities.

This Sunday we wrap up our summer sermon series, EXILES WITH HOPE, where we have been discussing the book of 1 Peter. As we conclude this series, we will look at the role of Elders in the local church and will install 2 new elders to serve the body of CrossRoads. Finally, we conclude by considering how the resurrection of Jesus gives us freedom from living as slaves to our fears and worries. Even though it is not Easter Sunday, we still live in the power and victory of Jesus Christ overcoming death. This promises to be another inspiring Sunday of worship together.

Why does suffering exist? If God is sovereign, then why doesn’t He stop bad things from happening? How does God use trials in the life of a believer? This Sunday we will continue in the series, EXILES WITH HOPE (1 Peter 4:12-19), as we consider these questions and discuss how God uses the difficult and hard things in our lives for our good and His glory. This promises to be another inspiring Sunday of worship and fellowship together as a church family.

Everyone knows that suffering is an undesired part of life, but can suffering be used for God's glory? This week Nigel Anderson will continue our journey through Peter's letter to the persecuted church. We will discuss how hardships can ultimately reaffirm our need and desire for God's glory in and through our lives. We will also have some special music performed by a guest worship leader, Laquan Green, and we will be taking communion together as a church family. This promises to be another impactful and inspiring Sunday of worship together. We hope you can join us!

This Sunday Pastor Kevin will continue the series EXILES WITH HOPE as we continue through the book of 1 Peter (this week's passage: 1 Peter 3:8 - 4:10). We will look at how the Lord calls us to be strong and courageous and not fear as we live in this world while not being of the world. It will be a great time with the church family!

This Sunday Pastor Kevin will continue the series EXILES WITH HOPE. We will be discussing how we as Christians engage the world without being like the world. We are also excited to conclude the "We Feed" food drive as we all bring our green bags back to church full of food and see how the Lord has provided for us to provide for others. As many of you are aware, there was a march scheduled for the streets of Larchmont for this Friday. Our church loves the Larchmont community and wants to serve it in any way possible so the leadership of our church reached out to the march organizers last week to discuss the intent and desired outcome of their event. As the result of numerous conversations, all parties have agreed that it would be healthier and more effective to move the march off of the streets and provide an opportunity for healthy discussion and dialogue on the issues of race and equality. As a result, this Friday, July 22 from 6PM to 8PM at Crossroads there will be a moderated community discussion of these issues. The goal of this gathering is to promote more unity and understanding in the City of Norfolk. Although there are varying ideas, views, and perspectives both our church and the leaders of the march have agreed to have an honest and respectful conversation. We hope you will join the discussion as it is an excellent opportuni

Last week we had an incredible service as we addressed the issues that have been facing our country. As a result of last week’s service, we have seen the Lord open many doors of conversation both within our church family and in the local community. We are seeing the Lord move in mighty and powerful ways. We feel that we need to continue the conversation we started last week and continuing wrestling out the implications that every person is created in the image of God, and how do we live this out daily. We continue in the series EXILES WITH HOPE as we look at 1 Peter 2:11-25. It is going to be a great Sunday as we engage in mercy and justice by passing out bags to collect food for those in need in our community.

Last week, we started a new sermon series called “EXILES WITH HOPE”, which is a study on the book of 1 Peter. We tackled some tough questions on the Sovereignty of God and the understanding of the Trinity. You can check out last week’s message on our weekly Podcast. This week we will continue with Part 2 of the series and continue to look into how God wants to speak into our lives through His Word and Truth. Don’t forget, depending on the weather, we are planning to do a “July 4th weekend” cookout immediately after the service out in the front lawn of the church. Just bring a lawn chair or blanket. Pastor Kevin begins a new series on the book of 1 Peter called "Exiles With Hope". We will begin by understanding that God calls us to be in the world, but not of it and that, although we face challenges in this world, we are never without hope.

Over the past several weeks, we have been talking about how to take the focus off of ourselves and put the focus on God. This week Pastor Kevin will conclude the series, ME, MYSELFIE, AND I, as we look at how the focus of our lives is fundamentally connected to the worship of our hearts. We will also be taking time in the service to honor dads and the significant role they play in our lives!

Join us this Sunday as Nigel Anderson (a.k.a. "Legin") continues the sermon series ME, MYSELFIE, & I. The phrase "dying to self" is often used in church circles, but not normally discussed. Is it merely being selfless? Misunderstood, it is possible that it can lead to negative outcomes. This week we will discuss what it means to die to self while having new life in Christ and examine a famous biblical figure to help our understanding. We hope you can join us!

Last week Pastor Kevin started a series called Me, Myselfie, and I, where we discussed how our pride is often the biggest obstacle to following Jesus. One of the lies that we believe from the devil is that we deserve things from God and that those things will satisfy and make us happy. Join us this week as we look at what Jesus told his disciples - that they must deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him.

Memorial Day is a day where we celebrate those who have sacrificed their lives for our country. This Sunday, Pastor Kevin starts a new series called ME, MY SELFIE, AND I, where we look at one of the greatest challenges we face in our lives, our desire to live for ourselves rather than God.

We should experience incredible joy with God, but how do we continually extend that to the people around us through Discipleship? This week Nigel Anderson will continue the series, "The Way of the Cross" by looking at the way in which Jesus initiated discipleship and how we can do the same in our daily life with others. Pastor Kevin will continue the series and look at how we respond to the trials we face in life. This Sunday, Mother’s Day, we will look at the mother of Jesus, Mary, and the trial that she faced and how she responded. Join us as we celebrate who God is and the gift of motherhood.
