  Sylvia Global arrives in Hong Kong to meet with Ms. Emily Wai-hing Lau, a democratically elected member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council, a vice-chairperson of the Democratic Party and vice-chairperson of the China Human Rights Lawyers Concern Group. Ms Lau was elected to the Legislative Council, the lawmaking body of Hong Kong, in 1991, the first time the British colony held democratic elections to choose a small number of legislators. Ms Lau was the first woman legislator directly elected by the people of Hong Kong.

What happens when we scream for help and no one responds for 20 years?  Returning from Bangladesh, Sylvia Global meets with Deborah Lindholm, Founder/CEO of the Foundation for Women (FFW). The typical FFW microcredit participant is a woman with more than three children, likely living at or below the poverty level and sharing a small house with one or two other families. She may be in Liberia or San Diego, an immigrant, refugee or survivor of domestic abuse with limited education.   FFW microcredit loans enable her to make anad sell items, buy and resell goods and build businesses - employing all her skills and talents to earn money to support her family. She's eventually able to feed, clothe and send her children to school.

Sylvia Global arrives in Bosten to meet with the author of A Heart for Freedom, Chai Ling. Twice nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize following her role as a leader of the Tiananmen Square student movement in 1989. Chai Ling shares a powerful story of battling China's powerful government, how China's One Child Policy effects America and her own personal battles  following four abortions.
