Bridging The Gap

When someone hurts us, it’s only natural for us to seek revenge. That’s the problem - it’s our human nature that prevents us from forgiving others! So how can we change that process and be forgiving? Jesus covers this topic during the “Lord’s Prayer” found in Matthew chapter six, verses fourteen and fifteen. 

So often we find ourselves trying to sway God towards our will, which in turn limits God’s working in our lives. Lloyd will share some thoughts about one of the most important aspects of our Christian life - forgiveness. Join us if you can in Matthew chapter six, as we examine verses fourteen and fifteen. 

This week we’ve been exploring the great privilege we have in being able to talk with God - to pour out our concerns and requests. And to enjoy God for who He is.  Too many Christians approach prayer as a “wish list” of things they want God to provide. That is not what God has in mind! 

Where does prayer land on your list of priorities? Now, most of us would put prayer right at the top of the list, but is that where we stop? Do we say we are going to make prayer a priority, and then just forget about it? Many helpful books have been written on the subject of prayer in response to the question, “how should I pray?” But, we need look no further than God’s Word for the most insightful direction. The Lord Jesus provides the answer to that question in His great Sermon on the Mount, and that’s what we’ll examine all this week on Bridging the Gap.

 What should be our attitude about prayer? Well, if we are honest, we sometimes relegate prayer to the bottom of our priority list, when it actually should always be number one.
