Bridging The Gap

We’re currently traveling verse by verse through Paul’s second letter to the Thessalonians and are focusing in on chapter two today. In this section of Scripture, Paul writes about what is known as The Great Apostasy, a day in which there will be a massive falling away from the faith. He exhorts us to stand fast in the faith because there will be many false teachers paving the way for the emergence of the Antichrist into the world.

Satan has been plotting the destruction of God’s kingdom and those who dwell in it since the garden of eden. Pastor Lloyd is going to take us to several places in the bible to show us how satan’s plan of deception is working, and what we can do to avoid falling for his lies.

If you’re familiar with God’s word, you probably already know the topic today - the antichrist. Who will he be? How will we know it’s really him? Will we even be around when he starts his reign of deceit? Those are corny asked questions about this particular chapter, and Lloyd will provide some sound answers today so open your bible to Second Thessalonians chapter two.

There is no question that anyone who takes an honest look at the world today would conclude that we are definitely living in the final days before Jesus returns.  On today’s broadcast we continue verse by verse through Second Thessalonians. We’ve come to chapter two in our study and the signs of the End Times. Two of those signs are the great Apostasy - where many turn away from the Lord and the coming of the Antichrist. Men and women who think they are too wise to be deceived, will indeed be deceived! 

Today Pastor Lloyd continues a new series through First Thessalonians. It’s here we’ll discover the change that took place in the city of Thessalonica as a result of believing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Having come into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, there was a real peace in the lives of the Thessalonian believers. They were on fire for the Lord and turned away from the old life.

On today’s broadcast Pastor Lloyd begins a study of Second Thessalonians. As pastor Lloyd begins in chapter one, he not only presents a prophetic overview of things to come but will also address the historical background of this exemplary Church that was on fire for the Lord - as it awaited the Lord’s soon return.

Today on Bridging the Gap, we bring our series in First Thessalonians to a close with a big finale as well - the last amazing verses of Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonian church. What an inspiring and challenging section of scripture this is - for the Thessalonians and for us! 

 The Bible is the ultimate and perfect guide for life, and we are going to see a great example of this today, in First Thessalonians chapter five. Pastor Lloyd has titled today’s message “Practicing Love”. That pretty much says it all, doesn’t it? 

The Bible tells us very clearly that no man knows the hour of the Lord’s return. Yet so many people are too easily drawn away from the truth of the Word of God by someone claiming to know the exact date of Christ’s return. Pastor Lloyd reminds us today it’s not our job to worry and wonder about the date of our Lord’s return. Our job is simply to live in anticipation of the Lord’s soon return! 

We are continuing our study of First Thessalonians today, and we’ll  begin chapter five  -- discussing the great Day of the Lord -- an event every believer should anticipate with excitement.

 We’ve been making our way through the Book of First Thessalonians. We left off last time discussing the often times misunderstood subject of life after death, and the rapture of the church. As believers, we know that we’ll spend the hereafter in heaven. But what exactly transpires immediately after we take our very last earthly breath? And why do some Christians today say they don’t believe in the rapture?

I’m sure everyone has pondered the ultimate question in life: What happens after you die? Well, the apostle Paul tells us it’s much different for believers than it is for unbelievers. Of course, we know about heaven and hell, but in our study today, pastor Lloyd shows us that Paul gets a little more specific in this passage.

We’re continuing our verse by verse study through First Thessalonians today, picking up where we left off yesterday in chapter four. There has never been a time in history as decadent as our world is today. What was once taboo is now accepted, and what was considered proper a few years ago is now laughed at.  As pastor Lloyd points out in today’s study, it may not be easy, but the reward of keeping ourselves sexually pure before marriage is great.

We’ve been steadily making our way through First Thessalonians, and today we’ll begin chapter four, in which Paul gives some practical instruction on the way Christians should, indeed, live. How does your way of life stack up against the principles clearly spelled out in the Word of God? Would someone be drawn to Christianity simply by observing your life?

We’re bringing you the conclusion of a message in First Thessalonians three, as we continue Lloyd’s series in Paul’s letters to the church in Thessalonica. Paul is encouraging the believers there to endure through hard times - even persecution. He says that believers are being watched by the world. Therefore, it’s important to maintain a strong witness and to lean on one another for encouragement in the tough times.

We are currently making our way through the Book of First Thessalonians and are focusing today on chapter three. The topic today and tomorrow will be the value of relationships. Now, it’s impossible to put a monetary value on our relationships, but I think we can all agree that having close friends who encourage us in our daily walk with God is something we should hold in very high value. People become involved in ministry for a variety of reasons, and unfortunately, some of those reasons are impure. When that happens, the Church suffers the consequences. Paul did not seek money or fame by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He did so with a pure and loving heart. Unfortunately, we see the opposite is true in many pulpits today. Today, Pastor Lloyd Pulley exhorts us to get involved in ministry. but do so out of love for Christ and others - without ulterior motives.

Today we’ll jump right back into our new series in First Thessalonians. Paul had been imprisoned for preaching the Gospel in Philippi prior to coming to Thessalonica. Yet we read that it didn’t stop him from continuing to teach. Likewise, if God wants us to do something, He will give us the strength and courage to do it regardless of any obstacle or consequence that may be in our way. That’s our lesson today, as Lloyd takes us to First Thessalonians chapter two.
