God is absolutely and meticulously sovereign over everything. The fear of the Lord comes in direct proportion to how much you worship, think about, and contemplate the absolute sovereignty of God. The more you think about and are aware of God’s sovereignty, the more your heart will fear Him and that fear will lead to humble obedience.

Dr. Sean Cole responds to the book "Pagan Christianity" by Frank VIola and George Barna who claim that the modern day expository sermon is a pagan invention and not found in Scripture. The underlying assumption of this "movement" is Anabaptist pragamatism. Many younger evaneglical leaders are falling prey to this dangerous teaching. This episode provides a strong warning and biblical corrective to "pagan Christianity."

Dr. Sean Cole continues this teaching through Ecclesiastes. Since worldly pursuits are meaningless, find enjoyment in God’s daily gifts of food, drink, and work. Solomon is going to show us FOUR EXPERIMENTS he undertook in seeking worldly pursuits under the sun that all failed miserably. God has given us gifts so that we can enjoy Him as our ultimate satisfaction. When we follow Christ in holiness, we can enjoy Him as the Giver of gifts.

On Leighton's recent www.soteriology101.com podcast, he did a great interview with Dr. Steve Gaines, President of the SBC, on difference in theology in our convention. I recommend listening to it. Dr. Sean Cole addresses some of these differences such as the Sinner's Prayer, Altar Calls, and methods of evangelism that stem from differences in theolgy between Calvinists and Traditionalist within the SBC.

Dr. Sean Cole begins a new series on Ecclesiastes. He gives an introduction to the book and then teaches on 1:1-11 about the meaningnless of life without Christ.

Yet, the Traditionalist non-Calvinist Southern Baptists deny total inablity and claim that the Word and gospel alone are sufficent to "enable" a response. Dr. Sean Cole attempts to bring some clarification to this issues.
