  • Episode 21 - From Darkness to Redemption

    29/01/2021 Duration: 22min

"Twenty-two years ago, I was struggling to figure out who I was and why I was here. I was someone who didn’t fit into the box where I was told I belong…. So, I did whatever made me happy and did it better than anyone else. Really… I was good at it! The problem is that I hurt a lot of people in the process. Of course, I justified my actions for years. That was until my selfishness led me to betray a dear friend and cause extreme damage to someone very dear to my heart," wrote James Ramsey, in a January 7th online letter. Listen to his letter in its entirety in this special episode of Just Sway. To read the letter and learn more about James Ramsey's work within the Church, please visit: https://thewellsmtx.org/2021/01/07/who-am-i/?fbclid=IwAR0hWTEPXuPGIMKkoY8whkGQhSRLC8AJWcz0wrB4JY4c9xBu3nW5XJvr8ekSpecial thank you to Dwight Theaker for helping James to record his letter. Original show artwork created by Alicia Urbanski of Peaches Art Shop. • Episode 13 - "Sway" with Bongani Mlambo and Ashley Ehrhardt

    17/09/2020 Duration: 50min

Sway has been a constant in my own Blue October library for sometime, and this episode is entirely focused on this one, incredible song. I was extremely fortunate to be joined by Bongani Mlambo, director of the Sway video, as well as photographer Ashley Ehrhardt. While each of them are fans of the band in their own respects, it was great to see how they had taken a song and turned it into their own pieces of art. Make sure to watch Bongani's videos for both Sway and Angels in Everything - both of which are available on YouTube! • Episode 11 - "Blue Family," An inside look at why the Blue October fans are one big family.

    07/09/2019 Duration: 34min

One the most intriguing parts about Blue October's fans is this thing we call the "Blue Family." It's not something that is easily describable - but once you experience it, you know it's real. In talking with other fans one thing that came up often was this connection that is felt with others who also experience the music, or the concerts, or Justin's journey and story. Once you know another person is a Blue October fan - boom, the connection is instantaneous. In this episode I focused more on what is behind that, and what others have felt in this same sense.Original show artwork created by Alicia Urbanski of Peaches Art Shop. 28/06/2019 Duration: 01h51s

Just as the song goes, life is full of ups and downs. It goes up, and it goes down. This is the story from Tara Felina and how that "Jump Rope" life of hers has kept her grateful for today and hopeful for better tomorrows. Tara and I connected in December 2018 through Facebook and an online Blue October forum. Once we talked and I found out she had written a book with a Blue October song (Jump Rope) as the title, we were destined to connect. Sharing stories from others is important, but letting my own story be known and felt is equally so. This is my story with Blue October and how their music affected me. When Just Sway was only an idea, I knew that I was eventually going to have to tell my own side of where Blue October entered my life and how it had helped me through a very dark time. • Episode 6 - "Staying Sticky"

    17/05/2019 Duration: 49min

This is a story of love, heartache, triumph, and the fight within the human spirit. Christine’s love for Blue October was born from her husband’s personal battle, and that love would come to be the light when her world got very dark. I first connected with Christine because she had shared an image I loved on a Blue October Facebook page. We talked at the end of last year, and I knew her story was incredible right from the beginning. What we didn’t know at the time is how challenging life could get and how those challenges would help to bring family even closer. Background music provided courtesy of Jaxon John.
