This week, I sit down with Alex Renner, new owner of the Guard the Yard (GTY) Football Camps.  Recorded at Coffee Press in Salzburg, we talk about the direction of GTY and how we can help grow the game here in Central Europe.  We also take a moment to talk about Tomasi Kongaika, a former teammate of mine who passed this weekend.  Then we wrap up with some thoughts about the opening weekend of the Austrian Football League and the lower divisions in Austria, and take a look forward to the AFL's week 2 matchups.

I stick around in Domzale this weekend to sit down with Miha Hrovat, a young Defensive Back for the Domzale Tigers, who moonlights as a Craft Brewer, Vlogger, & Philanthropist .  His Treecelet Project has already planted over 2,000 trees in the rainforests of Madagascar & Indonesia.  We talk about his history with the game and what’s next for the Domzale Tigers as they’ve merged with the Ljubljana Silverhawks.  

I get out of Austria this weekend and head down to Ljubljana to talk with former Domzale Tigers Head Coach Matic Pirnat to discuss how he went from a youth chasing goats and chickens on a mountainside farm in rural Slovenia to working with and learning from a storied NFL franchise like the Miami Dolphins. We also discuss his career ending Knee Injury that 9-months later, he is still recovering from and needs your help

In the second interview of this new Podcast series, I sit down with Princeton Graduate and 2017 All-Ivy League Defensive Back, James Gales, Jr.  The Manhattan native is currently a professional Defensive Back with the Traun Steelsharks in the Austrian Football League.  We talk his Ivy League experience, 150 years of Princeton Football, balancing school and football, growing up as an athlete in Manhattan, and professional football abroad.
