Doctor of Dental Surgery Mallory Cicmanec, a former successful NCAA pole vaulter for Purdue University is our guest this week. Word With A Champ is pleased to have Dr. Cicmanec share her story of a child's dream to make people smile. Sargent Dana Bowman, Green Beret veteran, is our guest today on Word With A Champ. We met Sgt. Bowman doing what he does now days, jumping out of airplanes and helicopters with a 2000 square foot American Flag at Professional Indian Horse Racing and Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association events. Dana is the only double amputee to reenlist after loosing his legs in a parachute accident that killed his partner Sgt. Jose Aguillon. An incredible story of courage and overcoming odds.

Crow Indian cowboy Kennard Real Bird is our Guest on this weeks Word With A Champ. Kennard's family has been raising horses for about 400 years. He is a popular rodeo and horse race announcer I had the pleasure of serving with at the All Nations Indian Relay Championships in Billings, Montana. An interesting interview with a good man.

The 2016 Season Champions of the Professional Indian Horse Racing are the team Young Money from the Blackfoot Tribe in Browning , Montana. Myles Murray jockeyed three great horses to win, place or show all season long. Myles visits with us about his champion team.

The Crow Nations, Awasapsii Express won the 4th Annual All Nations Indian Relay Championships in Billings, Montana, Sunday September 25, 2016. it was worth a $10,750.00 paycheck for first in the $31,750.00 Wrangler Championship Race. Over $112,000.00 was paid in 4 days of competition. We have results of final day and an interview with winning jockey, Chris Carlson.

The 2016 All Nations Indian Relay Championships 4th Annual competition in Billings, MT ran the 2nd of 4 performances Friday, September 23rd. A purse of over $112,000 will be distributed to the 34 qualifying teams of the great horse nations. Gary Fellers, the director of the Professional Indian Horse Racing Association comments on this 300 year old sport that is growing exponentially.

The first of 4 performances of the 2016 All Nations Indian Indian Relay Championships saw great action Thursday, September 22 in Billings, MT. The Professional Indian Horse Racing Association qualifies 34, 4 man, 3 horse teams for fastest teams by times headed to championship Sunday to award the national champions. Chickasaw Indian cowboy, Byran Walker and his wife Mary are our guests this week on Word With A Champ. Mary Walker is the 2012 Women's Professional Rodeo Association World Champion, Byran is the 1981 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Steer Wrestling World Champion. We enjoyed our interview with this very competitive and kind couple.

The 2X Wrangler National Finals Rodeo qualifier in Saddle Bronc Riding is an authentic cowboy and talented professional athlete. We think Chuck is a class act and you will enjoy our visit about his life and art of riding bucking horses.

Ryan Holman driving Heavy Metal, won his first ever competition with a Monster Truck, Vertical Wheelie Competition win, in Gillette, Wyoming. The 20 year old from Dayton, Ohio earned the victory over a tough field including his cousin Cody and Uncle Bobby Holman. Ryan shares his experience preparing and competing at only 3 competitions. It appears the bright and polite young gentleman has a great future in his chosen sport.

Traxxas Monster Truck Destruction Tour blew the lid off the Gillette Thunder Speedway Saturday night. Beast and Son Of Beast both, entertained Wyoming fans performing at the same time tearing it up in Freestyle. Bobby Holman of Dayton, Ohio is a 4X Monster Nationals Points Champion in Holman's Beast monster truck. The 53 year old, 34 year veteran driver has his career invigorated by his son Cody joining him in the 40year old American born sport.

Son Of Beast and Holman's Beast, both, entertained Wyoming fans performing at the same time tearing it up in Freestyle competition recently. Cody Holman from Dayton Ohio is a 20 year old, 3 year veteran driver. Him and his dad, Bobby Holman, 34 year veteran, are a very talented builderdriver team. Cody discusses the development of his talent in the all American monster truck motor sport. Cody joins the Traxxas Monster Truck Destruction Tour carnage that continues at the air conditioned, Utica, NY Civic Center for the next stop.

Wind River Indian reservation's Sharmaine Weed captured 2 victories in 2 days of ladies horse racing competition in Buffalo, Wyoming. The Northern Arapaho, Shoshone Rider dominated the season opener for the Professional Indian Horse Racing Association. We enjoy our visit with a very determined and talented 22 year old lady.

Dustin Kruger of Lodge Grass, Montana represented the Crow Nation well by winning the season opener for the Professional Indian Horse Racing Association. Kruger's team won the lions share final 3 lap championship race of the two day event in Buffalo, Wyoming that paid $20,000.00 to the 5 competing teams. A good start for his team on the road to Billings, Montana for the $100,000.00 All Nations Indian Relay Championships September 22 - 25, 2016.

Anthony Thomas is chasing his dreams halfway around the world to be a champion in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. We have followed Anthony reaching his goals for the past 4 years. We expect to see him in the city of lights at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. He mentions the cultural challenges pursuing his life goals to win the world riding bare back bucking horses.

Ojibwa Indian Cowboy Brett Stall is battling to qualify for his third Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. The Team 4 Bears Casino athlete has as big a heart as any one in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. A very straight forward attitude allows this 135 pound individual to conquer 2000 pound bucking bulls.

Tim O'Connell is presently number 3 in the World for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Bare Back Bronc Riding, 2016 standings. We caught up with Tim after a winning ride at the 70th Annual Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo. He is very close to his goal of a championship title in his game. O'Connell's passion of his sport is obvious in this interview.

Australian Cowboys are among favorite athletes in the world of sports. Reece Wellers and Brandon Wenham represent their country in fine fashion in and out of the bull riding arena. Fraser Babbington is on his way to putting his country of New Zealand on the list at the Professional Bull Riders World Finals in Las Vegas. Our visit with these three mates that have traveled half way around the world to follow their dreams, is refreshing.

Oglala Lakota bull rider Slick Phelps won the LJ Jenkins Bull Riding Tour event in Presho, South Dakota this past Saturday night. The 19 year old beat a talented field of contestants on major league bucking bulls. The consensus is this two time consecutive and defending Indian World Champion has the try and talent to be one of the best in his game. Slick provided a fun recap of his victory in our interview.
