Even Jesus disappointed people, not exactly seeming like the Messiah they had longed for. Sometimes we don't get what we want, but we get exactly what we need. Through Jesus, God has acted in human experience. Through Jesus, God has revealed that God is on your side. We see God's commitment to all people, especially the poor, the suffering, and the afflicted. Jesus offers us transformation beyond what we can imagine.
