Synopsis

My husband (Brian), who was only 59, was diagnosed with brain cancer on April 29th 2015. The shock and heartbreak of knowing that there was no cure for his type of cancer was beyond anything that I thought we could cope with as a couple. We decided that we were going to fight this disease and make sure that, while he was alive, his life sure that, while he was alive, his life would have laughter, love and the company of close friends and family. We were told that his diagnosis with treatment would give us up to 18 months. I went from being his wife to becoming a full time caregiver.  I was determined that I would be the best person to provide him with everything he needed and allow him to die at home. I could not have imagined how exhaustive and difficult this could be even with the support of friends and neighbours. In July of 2016, Brian’s disease progressed and we were told that the chemotherapy treatments were no longer working. It was suggested that Brian go to Hospice. I was against this, not knowing
