Synopsis

The 2024 NFL Draft has come to a close as the Carolina Panthers welcome a seven-man draft class to Charlotte. Carolina went in with several glaring needs and adequately addressed almost all of them through the three days in Detroit. The biggest was the need to surround Bryce Young with more offensive talent. The Panthers wasted no time by trading into the first round to select South Carolina WR Xavier Legette, and then on Day 2, traded back then up in the second round to select Texas RB Jonathon Brooks. Finally, to begin Day 3 of the draft, Carolina addressed the hole at tight end by selecting Ja'Tavion Sanders from Texas. The Panthers have undergone a makeover on defense as stalwarts Brian Burns, Donte Jackson, Frankie Luvu, and Jeremy Chinn all departed during the free agency period. Carolina added to all three levels by drafting Kentucky LB Trevin Wallace, in the third round, Washington State DB Chau Smith-Wade, in the fifth round, and then Mississippi State DT Jaden Crumedy and Michigan LB Michael Barrett
