    It's time for a break! Welcome to the 21st episode of La Voix du LILA - Burbank. Lincoln, Ms. Harvey, and Mr. Mondange all agreed it is a good time to take a breather from school and get some rest. If you have Netflix and are looking for French language content, high marks were both given for the series Lupin and Call My Agent. LILA parent Louis Leterrier directed the first 3 chapters of the series starring Omar Sy who was previously a parent here at LILA. Mr. Mondange was excited to share that the school has also received direction that they can start to plan for the 6th graders to return to campus very soon. Ms. Harvey asked that all parents and students mark their calendars for picture day as there will be a way to make this happen in the weeks following the break. This week was also the student government elections and we hope to have the new leadership team join the podcast in the future to speak about their plans for next year. In this episode, Lincoln, Ms. Harvey, and Mr. Mondange welcomed Dr. Peter Kalmus, who is a climate scientist and activist, to explore climate change and speak about his book "Being the Change." Ms. Harvey "highly recommends" Peter's book and spoke about the concept of "away," which does not mean traveling to another planet. As we might explore New Year's resolutions for next year, in addition to reading Peter's book, perhaps we can schedule in some composting. '21 who joined us in the studio to provide an update on the recent unrest along borders of Armenia and Azerbaijan from the perspective of an American teenager with family who live in Armenia. She is also a member of the student-led Charity Committee and she shared some initiatives to look forward to as Thanksgiving approaches. Mrs. Harvey and Lincoln recognized our Veterans as the recording occurred on Veterans' Day. Mrs. Harvey was also able to answer some questions regarding ways in which the school is looking to bring students back to campus as a follow-up to Mr. Maniska's briefing from this past week.     In this week's episode, Lincoln and Mr. Mondange interviewed Head of School Mr. Maniska, who was able to provide an update on the status of the school's back-to-campus plans. Mr. Maniska spoke about opportunities for small groups to return for special activities such as IB testing but was not able to speak further about a larger return to campus. Mr. Maniska also spoke about the upcoming Annual Fund and the need for support and how the pandemic has impacted the school.
