  • Episode 28: How God Called Me to Quit

    23/08/2018 Duration: 13min

It was January. It was cold. I had a baby who was a few weeks old and I was taking a break in the shower, doing one of my favorite shower activities - praying. I found myself praying for my business, for my clients, and suddenly, God called me to quit my biggest client. I was a little shocked considering we used that money to buy food for the family. More importantly, I wasn't ready to quit working with my beloved client. The thing is, after that, I started to understand that God calls us out of something good so he can fulfill his mission. That mission is the next best thing he's called me to. And that's huge and special. I continued to pray and ask God for a timeframe and I finally got one. Again, I questioned God if this was right. I also went back and forth with him on the timing, thinking I knew better. Having a Christ-centered business means it's not always going to be convenient or expected, but it's almost always according to God's plan. With that being said, I told my husband we would be expecting a

  • Episode 21: Liven Up Your Day in 3 Simple Ways

    05/07/2018 Duration: 11min

I wanted to pop in quick and share with you what's on my heart for you. These are things that I do when I need some encouragement for my day. - The first one is one that I use when I feel like my kids are crazy, when I need to pray and be encouraged, so basically every day. It's worship music! I pull up my nifty YouTube app and listen. The one that I love right now is So Will I (100 Billion X) from Hillsong United and Rooftops from Jesus Culture. Worship music is great for when I need inspiration, so I can get in the mood and in the zone. When I start writing something, I pray and ask Jesus for his words to flow through me. It's someone else singing and praising God so I can write and still be praising God. - Secondly prayer. Whether that's with you alone, with your kids or your partner. If you have a friend to type "hey, can you pray for me today" is so good! That's why I talk so much about having an inner circle who is willing to pray for you, for your business. If you have times when it's a rough day when

  • Episode 14: Have You Heard the One About Money?

    09/05/2018 Duration: 21min

Today we're talking about money. You're probably either in two camps - you're either excited about money or not excited about money. I am going to talk about money mindset for Christians. I am not a money mindset coach, I'm not a financial planner, but what I do know is the truth of the Bible. Money does not need to be feared, it does not need to be something we dislike, and I know money is powerful. God has given us money, he's given us currency to do things with. I see so many people where money is an issue. I do work for Tonya Rineer who is a money mindset coach and maybe that's why these things are at the forefront of my mind because of that awareness and how people look at money, but regardless, money is important to us as business owners. Tonya is a lot on the woo woo side so if you want to check her out, you can find her here.  First I'm going to read to you out of my devotional, Created for This. Money is important. I wouldn't be sitting in my house if I didn't have money. We need it and that's why I'
