Film Strippers

Episode 3 of Season 2 comes at you fast with the Best Picture winner from 1977, Annie Hall, battling against Star Wars! The rebels were no match for Woody Allen, but the Film Strippers are here to break down the battle and discuss each of them. We also talk about the classic 'heroes journey', our favorite and least favorite Star Wars characters, and debate the newest addition to the franchise.

In the most argumentative episode so far in Film Strippers, Kelsey and Kyle strip two of the top films from 1994 and pin them against one another. Big questions are also raised in this explicit episode. Is Forrest Gump making fun of dumb people? Why does Tarantino use so much racism in his films? What the fuck is a MacGuffin? Why is Kelsey's roommate microwaving something while we are recording? 

In Season 2, the Film Strippers discuss the Academy Awards Best Picture winners from certain years as voted on by our lovely listeners. We discuss two films in each episode this season. One of those films is the Academy Awards Winner and the other is a popular film that was nominated that same year, but ultimately lost.  In this intro episode, we discuss what is to come from the season and our favorite moments of this year's Oscars. Also, Kelsey spoils the ending of Dances With Wolves.

What is your greatest fear? Heights, the loss of a loved one, or bears? We discuss this and the grand reputation behind Vertigo in this season's host pick season finale. 

Kelsey really hates birds, but what does she think of the movie? In this episode we mostly discuss getting birds drunk and jumping into fountains naked. No soundtrack necessary.

Kelsey is Norman Bates level psycho for this film. Does Kyle feel the same way about it? You probably already have the score stuck in your head. Hopefully it leaves you before you need to shower again.

Seeing isn't always believing, according to Alfred Hitchcock. Also, Kelsey says that voyeurism is part of the human experience. Ethics in this episode are questionable, but the suspense behind Rear Window and the epicness of Grace Kelly is not.

Film Strippers dives into the first Hitchcock film of the season, Strangers on a Train. It's pretty much impossible to see this as less than a great film, but Kyle may hold it in a higher regard than Kelsey when compared to other Hitchcock films.
