As rumors floated throughout the last couple weeks, many speculated on what a package would look like for Pablo López. Well, here it is. The Minnesota Twins have traded Luis Arraez to the Miami Marlins for López, SS José Salas and OF Byron Chourio. It's a massive move for the Twins who decided to trade their primary leadoff man and the 2022 American League batting champion. In return, the Twins get a steady arm in López, who would've paced the team with 180 innings pitched last season. López, 26, harnesses a fastball in the mid 90s with a great changeup. Per Jeff Passan of ESPN, Carlos Correa is in agreement with the Minnesota Twins on a six-year, $200 million contract with vesting/team options that could push the overall value to 10 years and $270 million. In a crazy ending to an even crazier saga, the Twins end up as the last man standing, securing their superstar shortstop.This deal is pending a physical but reports indicate the Twins are comfortable enough with Correa's surgically-repaired right ankle to guarantee him the most money in franchise history. The final offer from the New York Mets was for six years and $157.5M but with the condition of passing a yearly physical. After word leaked that the San Francisco Giants were in need of more information following Carlos Correa's physical, super-agent Scott Boras made a move. Boras contacted both the Minnesota Twins and New York Mets to gauge their interest in getting a seat back at the table. The Twins were unwilling to increase their 10-year, $285 million offer while Steve Cohen's Mets closed the agreement at 12 years and $315 million.
