01.12.24 (MP3): Summer Plans & 24 at LeMans, Mike’s Practice Rounds & K-Mart Scopes We Found, Burning Wood & Knives are Good, + Shotguns, Shotguns, Shotguns (w/ Sounthern Culture on the Skids)
03/02/2024 Duration: 56minWho’s doing what this summer? You’d better get some things figured because whether it’s Tail of the Dragon, 24 Hours of LeMans, JF Summit, or just a few runs at Palomar, any high-Q gearhead fun requires a little foresight (even if that just means inflating tires)…. But you’ll need to survive that long to make anything happen, so the Gearhead Consultancy chats up a few home-defense shotgun options (870, 500 and 1300, for example), and factors for recalcitrant applicant-operating cohost PK JustCaleb. JustMark and JustIn are here to help - like any good geek should be. Want more? The value of dummy rounds for loading practice. A silenced .22 varmint slayer. Cale Yarborough and Alex Trebeck (R.I.P., you excellent weirdos). Knives from CFK, David Yellowhorse, Hill & Creek, Whiskey Bent and Cold Steel. Some suggestions for your next home inspection. Also, a bunch of road racing madness (because we can’t not).

01.03.24 (MP3): Watches & Gun Shows & Powdercoating, Oh My! The NRA is DeWayned, an M1A & a G43X, 870s VS 500s, Wood VS Plastic Furniture, Porsche Speedsters & Boxsters, Gun Stores in Co. Springs, + .308, .22LR, Iridium 192 & Bald Parents
23/01/2024 Duration: 56minSo much junk in this trunk… Zippos and hippos and chrome-plated nipples, plus a fancy Luftkraft shift knob cohost PK Caleb (ala EAS) bought for the Porsche he hasn’t yet. Hostus Maximus Justin Fort’s reports from the Tanner Gun Show illuminated more than overprices ammo (unless you’re willing to bundle bullets) - yes, used and new pew-pews are starting to act affordably again (so don’t sit on your hands). He also picked up a neato flexy Bad Ass (straight out’a Texas) IWB holster for one of the compacts, which iridium 192-soaked cohost Isotope of Mark immediatedly coveted, but he managed to slake his thirst with a scouterized M1A he built for why nots… Hey, it’s the Garage Hour - because why not is why enough. Whyle we’re at it: proprietary Japanese rounds, the NRA has been DeWayned (probably should’a mentioned that sooner), Norma’s making a .22LR that’ll drop squirrels at 500 yards, and shotguns for Caleb, R.L.O. Custom Leather for Mark and risotto for Justin. Hell yes, we’re awesome.

11.21.23 (MP3): Lost Episode! Fast Cars on Curvy Freeways & Being Nice to the Boys in Blue, Don’t Hijack the UPS Gal VS Don’t Drop Your Tools in Space, a $100 Mill Loss for Fisker VS a Tesla Loss for Toyota, +500 Million Guns & Condor’s Gonna Condor
10/01/2024 Duration: 53minSome times you feel like a nut (such as after an episode of the Garage Hour), and some times the recording software miscodecs a segment and you have to redrop the file raw. Whoops. So! …Here’s the lost November episode of the show the gearhead goons warned you about - chock full of the goodness you demand - so at least there’s that: making freeways fun (especially in an uncorked 5.0), the Mr. Dustin Report (Miatas and dollars and go-fast habits), the UPS chick getting truckjacked (and another lady losing a bag of space tools because it wasn’t from Louis Vitton - in space!), Fisker preplans its flight from Kalifornistan, Tesla versus Toyota versus the same failing bureaucleptocracy, more guns for everyone (1 mill just last month), fewer rules from the ATF (Dems can’t buy a law, let alone a vowel), and an orthodontist in North Carolina who’s giving away Glocks (because why not?). There’s always more: cops have a tough job so be nice (especially in NY), fun fuzzy music from the ‘70s, why we all should want

12.21.23 (MP3): What’s Your Next Beater? Too Nice Used Cars VS Choice Beaters, & Classic Gearhead Mistakes, .40 S&W and .30-30 W.C.F., Used Glocks & New Henrys, Shark Week at Home, Fancy Overtuning Fails, + Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Public Enemy & Anthra
04/01/2024 Duration: 01h00sCaffiene and Christmas go together (because you can’t handle one without the other), and the Gearhead Consultancy is up to its gills in it to get through this episode. P.K. outrovert Caleb of EAS and Radar Mark, Porsche man and sticker fan, joined Hostus Maximus Justin “Type A” Fort for this pre-holiday freeforall, and it’s got everything. Buying a beater but not falling into the “too nice” trap, wailing on expensive cars and because why not, battleships and their powder, rifles and their tuning, horny bucks and their antlers, left-eye dominance and its downsides, flagging noboby and who cares, Bring- A-Trailer and its stalkers, and psychic iTunes and its creepiness. What, more? Border Patrol Raptors, used FJs, Beetles and Vanagons and pickups (oh my), abusing Porsches for fun and employment, new Broncos (not so much), and a black P1800.

12.10.23 (MP3): Gifts for Gearheads (w/ Guns & Sips & Tools & Fancy Waxy Polish), + Brother James’ Creekwater Whiskey, .40 S&W Wrecking Guns, Two Degrees from a Cutlass, 719 Traffic VS 24 Hours of LeMans, & A Family Brawl at the Broadmoor
19/12/2023 Duration: 01h05minit’s Christmastime, so why not grab the punching handle by the blondes and try the Home Depot China Challenge yourself? …Because the gearheads in your life like what we like, we have ideas: fine waxes (Zymol), special sips (Gilark Creekwater rye whiskey, Axe & Oak, and 291), good tools (used or new, it’s about the function), obscure watches (make the effort), tint and clear-bra from E.A.S., slot cars, Atari and N64, and the gift of babysitting (so folks can make some time). Most importantly, shop local and seek something that’s better than expected. While we’re at it: How about a fistfight over chablis at the Broadmoor? How about Subie politics and 4Runner douchebaggery on the Front Range? Who isn’t two degrees from a Cutlass? …And why do all the racoons have knives?

12.03.23 (MP3): Guns, Whiskey, Tanks & the Phantom Crapper (i.e. Random Gearhead Awesomesauce) - Live from EAS, w/ Tank VS Tank, Lemans VS Lemons, Old Lexuses VS Glickenhouse Porsches, + Sabot Rounds, Crotch Bats & the Jerky Boys
10/12/2023 Duration: 55minYeah, yeah, it’s been too long. …Usual Christmastime to-do list is kicking everyone’s ass. Thankfully, Caleb from EAS in the ‘Springs kicked Hostus Maximus Justin and Gearhead Celebutant Mark’s collective asses back into the studio (over sips at Bristol Brewery), because the Garage Hour is too much candy not to have some. Gearhead location experimentation ensued, fueled by Axe & Oak’s Pike’s Peak Hillclimb whiskey, 9mm and .22 Magnum, visits from Charlie (who actually commanded an Abrams tank), plus movies Caleb’s got to watch (or he’ll die). What’s more to like: the F1 parade and ear-plugging weenies, tank movies, Saturday night coolers and van parties, a Glock 43 and an S&W with a billion rounds in the mag, plus Frank Rizzo, Saul Rosenberg and the Egyptian Magician.

10.22.23 (MP3): So Much - Fart Pipes, Bad Tires, Good Thinking, Automatic Transmissions (or Trannies), Volvo Households, Off-Roaders VS REI, the Electric Car “Cold Snap Sprint”, Ice Fog, Louisiana Fog, + RIP to Some Excellent Weirdos
05/11/2023 Duration: 01h01sOkay, busy boy does gearhead goodness: good pipes on slushbox BR-Zs (awww), Volvo households and 244s (turbo!), car racism and Tiptronic, automatic trannies for off-road effect, avoiding Chinese tires, new-car reality versus the electric car market and the “Cold Snap Sprint” (home), the 80-40 ice fog freakout, REI (bad) versus four-wheeling (good), and the big Louisiana fog crash (holy shed). More: discretion versus valor (pull off and have a burrito), pilots versus shrooms (and 83 counts of attempted murder for Captain Stupid), UFC refuses to learn from Bud Light’s fail, and a big Garage Hour R.I.P. to excellent weirdos Richard Mull (“Bull” from Night Court) and Matthew Perry from Friends (don’t do drugs then hit the hot tub). …Sounds from Peter Gunn, Vibravoid, God Lives Underwater, and thoughts about sounds from Iron Maiden.

10.01.23 (MP3): Cars Getting Uglier (Melty Booger Benz) & Weather Getting Nastier (& Invading ze Garadtch), Tie-Down Authentication & Ratchet-Strap Redundancy, Jeepers FAFO & Electric Jeeping Because Cheap(ening), + Dude Food Meat Science
24/10/2023 Duration: 52minSomuchworktodo…. Sorry about the untimely uploads, but the Gearhead Consultancy’s plate doth overfloweth. Now, about some good talk: What happens when a thunderstorm bombs the garage, and what’s the deal when your meat has been froen instead of hitting the ‘fridge fresh? 4Runner trans mounts (and squishy torque specs), stupid Jeepers winning stupid prizes (or horse-tranqed beggars - hey, it’s not MY wedding), secret Pioneer head units, JKs with V8s, electric Jeeps with rebates, new cars suffering a case of the old elbows, stolen design cues, and tie-downs and ratchet straps (because if it’s on the side of the road, it’s not on your load). Also, Home Depot versus Harbor Freight, half-digested Citroens, Zach’s elk summer sausage, and Electric Wizard, Living Color, Propellerheads and Electronic Excursions in High-Fi.

09.20.23 (MP3): Shredding Nuts & Bolts & Shocks, Invading Wolves & Bears & Cougars, Goolag Kills Drivers (?), Robot Semis Attack CA (& OH & IN), Diesel Makes Batteries Work, Green Makes LEGOs Fail, + Dad’s Cigarette & Yuge Pieces of Whatever In the Road
03/10/2023 Duration: 01h11sWhen we’re not stripping bolts on Warn hubs and trans mounts, the gearhead goons have a good little bit of info for you on using the right fastener (and not the “it fits” rule employed by the Walkin’ Dude…). There’s also news on robot-controlled semis being permitted on more roads (we’re about two steps from “Maximum Overdrive”, kids), the Goolag steering hapless Jeep owners off cliffs and creeks (buy a map), electric cars being powered by diesel (when unicorn farts are in short supply), and the wisdom of avoiding yuge chunks of Jersey barrier while commuting the company coche (because ashtray). Then again: wolves (not) in Colorado, wasted capital on fake green agendi, the Densh…. Denmarkers…. people of Daneland… giving up on environmentally friendly LEGOs, plus Goblin, Blur, Puny, Fatso, FNM, Mastodon, Faktor, Dekoder, Straits and AIC.

09.09.23 (MP3): Just Because You’re Paranoid… Situational Garage Awareness, Car Theft (and Overseas Markets), Gearhead Lost & Found, UAW VS Ford (& Its Members), Electric Vehicle Bans, + Stop Running Over Sh!t & Your Car Won’t Blow Up
24/09/2023 Duration: 01h01minWe warned you - the Gearhead Consultancy is all about paying attention (because geek!), and this uberule applies to home, self, car, property and Sanctum Garagium. If you don’t want your goods to get grabbed, watch your back when you park the Aston (or whatever you roll) in the car hole, because with all the crime exploding across America, someone might be watching you. The market is there for thieves - don’t be their meat. There’s more: lost D-rings, lost hitches and lost F-35s, hacked ships and hacked warplanes (yikes?), pawn shops and battery slop, Teslas running over junk and unions running over members, JF Summit, illegal Canadia, the thumb on the scale, plus Fu Manchu, High on Fire, Sleep, Matt Pike and Dragonaut, Herbalizer, Alice in Chains and Die Krupps.
