2017 - R - Horror, Mystery, Comedy Starring: Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford Director: Jordan Peele In this jam-packed episode, the guys discuss the 2017 movie event, Get Out, as well as a "movie to avoid", and the topic "Favorite Psychological Thriller." However, this episode my remain memorable for the game Rodney put together for Chet's birthday. Rodney connected with several of the listeners as well as former guests of the show to surprise Chet with birthday wishes. From Checked Out in Jersey, Take Too, Zeng This, and Ivey, many loyal listeners joined in along with former guests like Tony Germanario, Deron Generally, Kacey Spivey, and even Rob Burnett!

In this episode there are not 1 but 2 guests! Right before we jumped on the phone with Charles Hood (Director of Night Owls) he told us that Seth Goldsmith was also available for the interview. What transpired was a conversation about "the creative process" held between 2 pairs of friends who love movies and have a blast talking about them!

This Movie Night pick by Chet and Rodney is a satire of what the world would be like if we knew for sure that it was ending in 3 weeks. Also, the guys take a Zombie Apocalypse survival quiz in real time on the episode! Of course they also deliver a "Movie to Avoid" and writer from Slant Magazine makes the mistake of providing their contact information on Twitter.....

In this episode Chet and Rodney discuss 3 Romantic movies that they feel are a bit under the radar. Those are The Breakup (2006), Across the Universe (2007), and What If (2013). They also get listener feedback on the question, "What Is YOUR Favorite Romantic Movie?" PLUS a story of a 12 year long prank Chet has been pulling and an impromptu discussion on why we are drawn to Romantic movies in general.

A Romantic Comedy with a great story. The guys also talk about a "Movie to Avoid" as well as asking the listeners about "Blind Date Stories." Additionally this week Chet sets up yet another new game for Rodney to play where only you, the listener, actually wins.

(2009) - R - Drama, Romance Where to Find It: Amazon Prime Starring: George Clooney, Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick, Jason Bateman Director: Jason Reitman Rodney and Chet take a look back at a Best Picture Nominee from 2009 as this week's Movie Night pick! It's available on Amazon Prime for free (with membership) and is ABSOLUTELY WORTH YOUR TIME! What an incredible movie! It explores the landscape of the Recession and is carried by a great cast. A drama, romance with great humor. Also in this episode we asked the listeners about their craziest travel stories along with providing a "Movie to Avoid" and Rodney yet again must play "Movie or Band?"

(2015) - R - Drama, Action Starring: Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, Benecio Del Toro Director: Dennis Villeneuve In this episode the guys Take Back Movie Night with Sicario and ask the question, What is Your Favorite Hollywood Power Couple? Also, listen as they discuss a "Movie to Avoid" as well as the return of "Who Wins in a Fight?" Why We Recommend It: Sicario gives a fresh take on the familiar story of drug wars with the Cartel. A movie that keeps you guessing portrayed by a phenomenal cast.

(2012) - PG-13 - Comedy, True Story Starring: Mike Birbiglia, Ira Glass, Lauren Ambrose, Director: Mike Birbiglia, Seth Barish Rodney recommended this one to Chet during the interview with Kurt Braunohler of The Big Sick and Chet agreed, this is a GREAT #MovieNight pick! Mike Birbiglia narrates the story of how his career in comedy took off, how it affected his relationships, and also how a chronic sleepwalking problem became scarier and scarier. This is a quick one and it's on Netflix so we highly recommend! Also, we read sleepwalking stories from the listeners as well as talk about a movie to avoid. Lastly, Rodney plays "Racehorse or Movie?" This is where Chet says a name and Rodney has to guess if it is the name of a racehorse or a low-budget movie. What is your best sleepwalking story?

(2014) - PG-13 - Biography, Crime, Drama Starring: Amy Adams, Christoph Waltz Director: Tim Burton Ready for another #MovieNight pick? Check out this episode where we explain why Big Eyes is a great pick for this week. We also hear from the listeners on what movies THEY think are good for #MovieNight. Also, Chet sets up the second installment of "Movie or Metal?" where Rodney hears a name and has to determine if it's a low-budget horror movie or a heavy metal band!

The guys also discuss Jake Gyllenhaal as an actor and talk about whether or not Swiss Army Man is a "movie to avoid." Also, who wins in a fight? Danielle Radcliffe or Elijah Wood? Join the conversation! What is YOUR favorite Jake Gyllenhaal film?

In this episode, we get the chance to talk to Kurt Braunohler from "The Big Sick" who talks about his career and what it was like to star in an early "Best Picture" contender. In addition to talking about his career, Kurt also talks about why it is that comedians seem to stick together and how he landed his role in "The Big Sick". He also gives a definitive answer to the age old question: "Which podcast is better: This American Life or Down the Hall." The answer: Down the Hall...obviously.

A simple cast with a simple premise but one that will get you thinking and talking about it for days. Also, the listeners answer the question, "What are your favorite psychological mystery movies?" Plus a brand new segment called "Metal or Movie?" where Rodney has to guess whether a name is that of a low budget horror movie or a heavy metal rock band.

The guys talk through other movies about Artificial Intelligence and debate who would win in a fight between Dwayne Johnson and Jason Momoa. Join the conversation!
