Whiskey And Mash

This week we talk about Ses 10 Eps 18, Heroes, and 19, Sons and Bowlers. In Heroes, we watch as Hawkeye is forced into the limelight agianst his will, leading BJ and Charles to become jelaous. Meanwhile, Klinger finds that a memo from General Wilberforce opens every supply door he could ever hope to have access to. In Sons and Bowlers, Potter turns to bowling as a way to beat the Marines at some sort of sport while Hawk and Charles grow closer while Hawk tries to find out what is going on with his father, who has gone in for an operation.

This week on @WhiskeyAndMASH we discuss what happens when it's BJ's turn to go to Battalion Aid, but he's out for a trim and manicure in Seoul. Hint: Hawkeye ends up going in his place and we get a bunch of flashback scenes (Ses 10 Ep 16 - Where There's A Will, There's A War). Next, we discuss what happens when a young man tries to stick to his morals amidst the immorality of war, and just what lengths some enlisted men will go to as they try to earn their promotions at the last minute (Ses 10 Ep 17 - Promotion Commotion).

This week on @WhiskeyAndMASH we talk about the pain that goes along with oral higene as well as that when a CO is caught making racist duty assignment (Ses 10 Ep 14 - The Tooth Shall Set You Free). Next, we chat on what happens when Hawk fixes a small surgical bug that Potter missed, as well as what happens when Charles resigns as the Swamp's Chamber Maid (Ses 10 Ep 15 - Pressure Points).

This week on @WhiskeyAndMASH Gloria, Chris, and their guest host Tom, talk about what happens when an old war correspondant looking for a juicy story shows up at the 4077th with 6 pints of blood and a need to glorify war (Ses 10 Ep 12 Blood and Guts). Next, the MASH Trio tackles what the chaplaincy looks like in the service while managing to share some observations about Father Mulcahy's character stability throughout the series and what happened to the fresh eggs promised to the occupants of the 4077th (Ses 10 Ep 13 A Holy Mess).

In this week's episode of @WhiskeyAndMASH we see what happens when a Klinger gets a high fever combined with soldiers who didn't make the trip from Battalion Aide to the 4077th (Ses 10 Ep 10 - Follies of the LIving, Concerns of the Dead). Also, we see how just a simple kind act, such as sharing a bran muffin, can turn a person's birthday around (Ses 10 Ep 11 - Birthday Girls). Did I mention that the doctors of the 4077th turn a cow into a guinea pig?

This week we conclude the Snap/Snappier Judgement two-part episode (Ses 10 Ep 8 - Snappier Judgement) to find that Klinger, by a hair, is found innocent. Also, we find out what Boxing Day does to the morale of the 4077th while also being reminded that not every job is as easy as we think it is (Ses 10 Ep 9 - 'Twas the Day After Christmas).

This week we talk about what happens when Charles loses possession of his May 5th edition of The Daily Boston Globe (otherwise known as his good judgement) while a North Korean POW encounters his war-separated ROK brother (Ses 10 Ep 7 - Communication Breakdown). Additionally, we see what happens when Max fails to submit a stolen goods report in a timely manner (Ses 10 ep 8 - Snap Judgement). Hint: it doesn't go well.

This week we look at Ses 10 Ep 5 - Give 'Em Hell, Hawkeye (or Ep 4, depending on your numbering) wherein Colonel Ditka offers the 4077th a needed water heater if they'll undergo a beautification project at camp. During this, a young Korean boy by the name of Kim Han is earning money so that he can buy surgery to look more American. In our second episode (Ses 10 Ep 6 - Wheelers and Dealers), Klinger has to inventory the laundry, Potter has to take remedial drivers' ed, and BJ goes off on a tizzy when Peg has to get a job.

This week on #WhiskeyAndMASH we talk about Season 10 Eps 1 & 2, That's Show Biz. A USO troupe ends up staying over at the 4077th after stopping to see one of their number who was in for an apendectomy. Listen as we recount how these USOers help the members of the 4077th expand their horizons a bit, and even pull on some heart strings in the process.

This week on #WhiskeyAndMASH we talk about two soldiers who arrive at the 4077th questioning their choices in life and one questioning everyone elses' (Ses 10 Ep 3 - Identity Crisis) as well as what lengths the staff of the 4077th will go to in order to keep (almost) everyone in tact there as a new MASH forms elsewhere (Ses 10 Ep 4 - Rumor at the Top).

This week on #WhiskeyAndMASH we revisit a small character named Walter "Radar" O'Reilly as he works his way through civilian life. Turns out, however, that it isn't treating him as well as he'd have his friends back in Korea believe (Ses 9 Ep 19 The Foresight Saga). Next, in the season finale (according to broadcast order) we watch as Charles comes perilously close to death, Hawkeye deals with trays in the Mess, BJ with sheets in Laundry, Margaret with a mopey Charles, and Father with the camp's garbage. Mainly, though, we watch as Charles deals with his brush with death (Ses 9 Ep 20 The Life You Save).

This week we see another installment of "Hawkeye Going Crazy" (Ses 9 Ep 17 - Bless You, Hawkeye) as well as both the detrimental effects of a Cardinal's visit to the 4077th on Fr. Mulcahy as well as the counter-effects of a terminally ill patient on the same Francis Mulcahy (Seas 9 Ep 18 - Blood Brothers).

From our new temporary location, #WhiskeyAndMASH returns this week as we talk about the perils of becoming an alcoholic in a warzone (Ses 9 Ep 15 - Bottoms Up) as well as what it takes to (a) lower one's blood pressure while a commanding officer in a warzone and (b) get out of one's duties as corpsman and company clerk (Ses 9 Ep 16 - The Red/White Blues).

In this week's episode we talk about the trials and tribulations of the 4077th during a three-day heat wave (Ep 11 - No Sweat), wherein Potter ends up taking a sleeping pill to help him get some shuteye, and what Hawkeye decides to do when the camp is accidentally gifted with 500,000 tongue depressors (Ep 12 - Depressing News). Hint on that second one: it involves Hawk making a monument, and then using prima-cord.

This week on #WhiskeyAndMASH we watch as Col. Baldwin returns to the show. Unfortunate timing, as Hawkeye has taken a vow of sincerity for 24 hours (Ses 9 Ep 13 - No Laughing Matter). Also, we watch what happens to BJ when he finds himself at another anniversary (this being his real one) away from Peg and Erin (Ses 9 Ep 14 - Oh, How We Danced).

This week we tackle two holiday-themed episodes: Season 9 episodes 5 (Death Takes a Holiday) and 6 (A War for All Seasons). In the first we watch as Charles graples with what he sees as a misuse of his family's holiday chocolate tradition while the doctors try to keep a husband and father alive until December 26th. In the second episode we break what little continuity was left in the MASH timeline (see http://mash.wikia.com/wiki/A_War_for_All_Seasons_(TV_series_episode) ) as we cover an entire year (1951 to be precise) in one episode, watching what happens along the way including a potholder becoming a blanket, corn being creamed, Charles ending up in debt, and the Captains creating a kidney machine from a Sears catalog.

This week we watch the fallout of an Army retention NCO's visit to the 4077th (Ses 9 Ep 7 - Your Retention Please) as well as what happens when Charles is left in charge whilst a young Marine's mother is facing deportation (Ses 9 Ep 8 - Tell It tTo The Marines).

This week we take a break from our regular schedule to play our second of two rouds of MASHED, a Powered by the Apocalypse RPG. This week's episode involves the fallout and repercusions, specific to the three main characters, that are a result of the Deluge that the camp just survived.. For the forseeable future this will be our last time playing the MASHED RPG.

This week Gloria and Chris discuss what sanitary steps the 4077th takes to avoid post-op illness (Hint: it involves cement, not food preparation; Ses 9 Ep 3 - Cementing Relationships), as well as what happens when 'Educational Materials' and Howitzer Al Houlihan arrive at 4077th at the same time (Ses 9 Ep 4 - Father's Day).
