  • Julian

    04/05/2020 Duration: 01h30min

In this episode, we speak with quarantined friend and fellow ‘good cunt’ Julian, an Australian expat and father of two, who loves whiskey, mountains, and good, clean country living. After listening to the pod, I noted a factual inaccuracy. It wasn't Mt. Tengu that my buddy and I camped on, and then traversed to Akadake the following day. It was Amidadake. Perhaps I was conflating memories, though, since I have slept on a different Mt. Tengu in the Japanese Alps, out toward Mt. Yari in Hakuba. Different trip, different area. • The Whiskey Chronicles: Part I (Steve Edwards)

    15/07/2019 Duration: 01h39min

Digging through the vault, I found this three-year-old recording in which Steve Edwards and I sipped whiskey and swapped stories - among them some of Steve’s wild misadventures on the Harley. I do hope you enjoy it.This show is completely independent and listener-supported. Want to show your support and make a pledge? I wasn't that far under the mark. In 2016, when this was recorded, 37,461 people were killed in 34,436 motor vehicle crashes, an average of 102 per day, or 12.4 per 100,000 people per year. Japan, on the other hand, only had 4.1 traffic fatalities per 100,000 persons per year, meaning that America has more than triple the fatalities Japan does on average. In 2018, the number of traffic deaths in the US reached an estimated 40,000. Be safe on the highways out there, people! Sources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M
