The sermon this week was provided by guest preacher, David Drees, former Young Life Director at Ohio State. This week we are looking at the story of Lazarus and how in it Christ displays his compassion, his perfect timing, and all around love for his people. The ultimate goal is for people to start to deal with where they see disappointment in their life and ask "if only you..." to God. And how we can start to work through that and see God is not only for us, but actively proving this to us!

Pastor Steve introduces our new sermon series: FAQ: Ask And It Shall Be Given You - Answreing Frequently Asked Questions. The only basis for an eternal relationship with God is faith, not proof. Therefore, while God has proven himself to us in many ways, God has purposely designed it so that we in the end must embrace him by faith alone.

Pastor Steve continues our sermon series: FAQ: Ask And It Will Be Given You - Answering Frequently Asked Questions. We need community to survive physically and spiritually. It is not good for us to be alone and so God created us and recreated us to live in vital relationships with others. To not be a part of a Christian Church is to be a spiritual orphan.

We welcome Pastor Gary Sandberg back to St. Luke as we continue our sermon series: FAQ: Ask And It Will Be Given You - Answering Frequently Asked Questions. Jesus does not shy away from calling out people concerning divorce. But, in Mark we see these strict commands tempered by the compassion that he shows to children. We need to encourage each other to work to keep mariages strong, including our own.
