Sometimes you meet people in life who genuinely intrigue you, and those individuals have such a fascinating story to tell that you can't wait to hear it. The person that was on this week's podcast is one of those individuals, and that is Shayne Adams. Shayne's life has been somewhat tumultuous from his upbringing and his family life, to a motorcycle crash that has changed the whole course of his life. Being able to share in his life challenges and his life outlook was an honor, and I hope you all enjoy listening to his words as much as I enjoyed his presence recording this episode.www.facebook.com/barelyqualified www.spreaker.com/barelyqualified Twitter: Barely_Q Instagram: Barelyqualified Snapchat: BarelyKoalified

  • Ep. 26: (Rebroadcast) Humble Beginnings w/ Deshani

    07/02/2020 Duration: 56min

This is the first episode we ever recorded. It was before there was a Barely Qualified and the show was called Ph.D. Radio. We aren't doctors, but the first few letters of our names would make up (PH)ilip and (D)eshani. It was recorded in 2015 when we bought our first microphone and just wanted to make a podcast. We had a few alcoholic beverages and just started talking about the news. One mic, horrible levels, genuine levels of amazingness, and insight.www.facebook.com/barelyqualified www.spreaker.com/barelyqualified Twitter: Barely_Q Instagram: Barelyqualified Snapchat: BarelyKoalified

I laughed so hard during this week's episode and it was all due to our guest this week which was D.K. Vinson! • Ep. 24: Forging My Own Path w/ Jacob Pierce

    24/01/2020 Duration: 01h16min

Sometimes you are fortunate enough to get a whole perspective on life, religion, child development, and so much more. When you have that moment, they are rarely recorded, and you are unable able to revisit them. Fortunately, we have the technology, and such a perspective was captured by my friend Jacob Pierce. Jacob has a unique perspective on life, his spirituality and his general outlook on how he treats people on a day to day basis. Upbringing is what shapes children into who they are going to become. In this instance, his unique perspective shines a light into a path that most of us have not taken. Enjoy this deep dive into a sound mind and soul on this week's episode!www.facebook.com/barelyqualified www.spreaker.com/barelyqualified Twitter: Barely_Q Instagram: Barelyqualified Snapchat: BarelyKoalified

Ray and I also discuss the appropriate times if you are a nonperson of color to use the N-word. (Spoiler alert. There isn't one.) 25/10/2019 Duration: 02h09min

Even though you aren't consciously waiting for them to speak, your subconscious can't get enough of what they are saying. This week's episode embodies that premise. Charles McCaskill is a poet, a writer, self published author, and one hundred percent authentically himself. He takes us on a journey through his past and what has led him to be so active in the poetry scene and his community at large. • Ep 18: Perpetual Lightning Round w/ Jay and Jacob

    27/09/2019 Duration: 01h35min

This weeks episode has my friends Jacob Pierce and Jay *insert a funny-sounding word after Jay here* on the show and it was a hilarious time. There was a slew of topics covered and there was no shortage of laughter. Quick series of questions. Who puts mayo in their noodles, and makes a sandwich out of it? Who was the greatest NBA player of all time? How many licks does it take until you get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop? How does one spell c-o-c-a-i-n-e correctly? When does brunch actually start? At a loss for words? Welcome to the show! www.facebook.com/barelyqualifiedwww.spreaker.com/barelyqualifiedTwitter: Barely_QInstagram: BarelyqualifiedSnapchat: BarelyKoalified

  • Ep 17: 10 Kids?!? w/ Misty Weeks

    20/09/2019 Duration: 01h13min

On this week's episode of Barely Qualified, we have my friend Misty Weeks. We took a deep dive into her past and we spoke about the things that she holds important to her. Relationships, religion, and abortion were among the topics of discussion, and it was awesome having her on to hear her opinion on said topics. This episode was originally recorded in May, so some of the references to Avengers and such may be a little outdated. Also, SPOILERS for Avengers Endgame if you have yet to see it. Jump in and listen to all of our tomfooleries!!!www.facebook.com/barelyqualifiedwww.spreaker.com/barelyqualifiedTwitter: Barely_QInstagram: BarelyqualifiedSnapchat: BarelyKoalified

  • Ep 16: E3 Wrap Up! EA and Microsoft

    30/06/2019 Duration: 01h02min

The Electronic Entertainment Expo!!! Was it exciting? Did they do enough to keep gamers intrigued? Do you have no idea what I am talking about? E3 had a very lackluster showing this year. There is so much potential to blow the industry and gamers away with announcements and reveals, but overall it just left a sour taste in our mouths. It seems the industry as a whole is gearing up for the next generation of consoles, and this is why 2019 has felt like such a "meh" year. Listen to our hot takes from the EA and Microsoft conferences!facebook.com/barelyqualifiedtwitter: Barely_QInstagram: Barelyqualifiedwww.spreaker.com/barelyqualified

  • Ep 15: Stay In Your Lane w/ Emily Swafford

    18/05/2019 Duration: 01h01min

Technical difficulties be damned! Probably much like our souls. What does STD's, abortion, religion and Sarah Bareilles all have in common? We talked about them inside of this episode! Emily was a fantastic guest and gave her hot takes on religion and relationships. The episode was cut short however due to technical difficulties and one of us taking time out to go and see Avengers Endgame. Enjoy Emily and myself as we dive into Christianity's history, as well as some other issues along the way. I might even have an awesome analogy or two inside of this episode.Facebook: facebook.com/barelyqualifiedTwitter: Barely_QInstagram: Barely QualifiedE-mail: Philip@barely-qualified.comHold Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBlFHuCzPgY&t=37s

  • Ep 14: 50 Shades of What? w/ Trenden Padgett

    03/05/2019 Duration: 01h52min

This is an episode with a friend who I have had for a long time, who when speaking about his emotions is about as open as any Waffle House in existence. He brings charm, wit, and a whole lot of stories with him to wow/annoy/confuse?/ and amaze you. So if you are interested in hearing about two individuals speak about how childish they are, or how deep and existential they can be, or whether or not you should use lambskin condoms, then look no further. This episode is definitely for you.www.facebook.com/barelyqualifiedTwitter: Barely_QInstagram: Barelyqualifiedwww.spreaker.com/barelyqualifiedEmail: philip@barely-qualified.comEliza George Art: @ElizaGeorgeArt / Facebook | ElizaGeorgeArtist / InstagramIncredible Dance Routine: "Identity" Keone & Mari | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O02JZBLJnXQ

  • Ep 13: Threesome? Yessum! w/ Mystery Guest

    22/02/2019 Duration: 01h42min

Is watching porn without your partner considered cheating? Does going to a strip club also fall into that category? We dive into those questions and more with this weeks episode. Our previous guest Jenna comes back for a non corrupt episode this week, as well as a mystery guest who requested to not be named or put into any promotional material due to the controversial nature of the discussion. (By controversial, we mean very tame by Barely Qualified standards.) Other topics discussed, were strippers, weird uses for car wash vaccuum cleaners, a better allocation of funds from the federal government, and much, much more. facebook.com/barelyqualifiedtwitter: @barely_QInstagram: Barelyqualified

  • Ep 12.5: The Best Episode That Never Happened w/Jenna

    01/02/2019 Duration: 27min

If there has ever been a moment in your life where you worked hard on something, like writing a beautiful poem, wrapping a present that was very difficult to wrap, or baking something that took hours to prepare, only to have that destroyed by forces outside of your control, then you will be well prepared for this half episode. This most recent episode of the show is only thirty minutes long. Now while some of you rejoice in how short this is, it was not meant intentionally. The file was corrupted while it was saving to the computer. So a very heartfelt, and an eye-opening episode was mitigated down to a few minutes. Since then, we have not had the same sort of issues, but it is a little disheartening to have something that I deemed personally as great, to be destroyed by forces out of our control. www.facebook.com/barelyqualifiedwww.spreaker.com/barelyqualifiedTwitter: Barely_QInstagram: Barelyqualified
