Bridging The Gap

Today, Pastor Lloyd will have us consider the Lord’s words in Mark chapter four, verses twenty one through forty one. As believers who have been given the truth of the gospel message, we have a responsibility to share that truth with an unsaved world. Are you up for the challenge?

Pastor Lloyd Pulley enters Mark chapter six today. Let’s find our place there now as we return to our study of Mark’s Gospel, and a message titled “Hope For the Trampled Heart”. We’ll see that everyone is challenged to be prepared in and out of season to preach the Word as well as to give an answer to everyone who asks us for the hope we have.

Today we’ll study Mark, chapter five and the story of a desperate woman who had been suffering with an incurable medical condition for over twelve years. And then in the midst of that desperation, she encounters God.

Unfortunately, many people are Christian in name only. It was true in Jesus’ day as well, and that’s why He shared the parable of the Sower. That will be our topic of discussion once again today as we look at Mark chapter four. Here Jesus describes four kinds of soil, and we’d do well to see which best describes our heart , to see whether or not we are who we think! 

The story of the sower and the seed illustrates for us that our hearts must be properly prepared in order to fully receive all that God has for us. Pastor Lloyd now takes us to Mark chapter four.

Pastor Lloyd Pulley is sharing a series called “Jesus The Humble Servant”, taken from the gospel of Mark. We’re in Mark chapter three today, where we find Jesus continuing to be radical in His earthly ministry.

This is Bridging the Gap, with pastor Lloyd Pulley. In a message titled, “Getting it Right About Jesus,” pastor Lloyd directs our attention to Mark chapter three, where we find Jesus catching the ire of the religious leaders who had concluded that our Lord was a lunatic.

Today on Bridging the Gap, we’re going to meet The Lord’s entourage - the group of men He chose to be His disciples. Fishermen, a religious zealot, a hated tax collector, and six others we know little about - just ordinary men, but they followed and extraordinary God. Pastor Lloyd Pulley is sharing a new series titled “Jesus The Humble Servant”, and today we’ll begin in Mark chapter three.

The man we’re going to meet today on Bridging the Gap had a withered hand, but after he stepped out in faith, he experienced a wonderful touch from God. Our study of Mark takes us to the last several verses of chapter two and the beginning of chapter three, where the Pharisees are keeping a close eye on Jesus.

Today we bring you part two of pastor Lloyd’s message, “Jesus the Great Physician” from Mark chapter two.  We know all about Jesus and His miraculous healing of physical maladies, but what about the healing we need in our hearts? Jesus has a plan for those problems as well.

The world says Jesus was a peace loving guy, who just wanted everyone to love and accept each other. Should we love one another? Of course. Should we tolerate anything and everything because we don’t want to offend? No way! Jesus didn’t do that!

On today’s program we’ll look at the end of Mark chapter one. It’s here that Jesus heals a man afflicted with Leprosy, and immediately tells him to tell no one of his healing. Why? Well, Jesus didn’t want to face a crowd of people preventing Him from getting His work done. Unfortunately, this man didn’t heed Jesus’ words, and soon it was a mob scene.

Today on Bridging the Gap, we’ll look at Mark chapter one, verses twenty one through forty five, as we see the news of Jesus healing the afflicted spread like wildfire. Jesus didn’t want the notoriety necessarily, but He certainly got it anyway!

The topic today on Bridging the Gap will be fishing.... sort of! What did Jesus mean when He told his potential disciples, “Come with Me and I’ll make you fishers of men?” Do you want to be a fisher of men too? Pastor Lloyd is in Mark chapter one, speaking of one of the most important aspects of being a Christian - repenting of our sins!

Today we embark on a  series in the book of Mark, titled “Jesus, The Humble Servant”. Thought by many to be the earliest of the gospel accounts, Mark is also the shortest of the four gospels. But that certainly is not an indication of its relevance to us today. As we’re about to see, its sixteen chapters are packed with wisdom and guidance for living out a faith-filled life.

Today, pastor Lloyd will bring us our final study in First Peter, as we see some insights from God’s word on how to have that faithful attitude in service to God. It’s a 24-7 way of life! 

Even a quick glance at television today will tell you that this world has a problem with humility. The catch phrase of the year 2025 has got to be “It’s all about ME!”. Pastor Lloyd continues his study of First Peter.  Peter has some good words to say about the need for a humble heart in chapter five, verses five through seven.

I am confident that every single person listening today has gone through a trial in their life. Some are much more serious than others, of course, but the common denominator for Christians is that we should rejoice when we suffer. What? Yes - rejoicing in times of trial and persecution. Why should that be our response? Shouldn’t it be the exact opposite? 

Lending a helping hand is what makes a friend a real friend. If we say we care, but don’t ever lend a hand, then we really don’t care. Similarly the body of Christ is an extension, an arm of Christ, reaching out to a world desperately in need of help.  Compassion, such as this is just one of several marks of a Christian that we’ll examine here today on Bridging the Gap as Lloyd Pulley resumes his verse by verse study of First Peter. 

Today on Bridging the Gap, we’ll turn to First Peter two, and receive helpful instruction for Christian submission to authority. I think you’ll find this study encouraging as pastor Lloyd Pulley urges us to elevate our perspective and use Jesus as our example as we go to work.
