Bridging The Gap

Over the years, we have seen many so-called “Psychics” make some wildly wrong predictions.That’s why it’s so astonishing to read the Bible’s predictions and realize that it has a one hundred percent success rate in its accuracy. The Book of Daniel is a great example of this and that’s where our focus lies on today’s edition of Bridging the Gap.

Here on this edition of Bridging the Gap, pastor Lloyd Pulley takes us to Daniel chapter two, as a part of his prophecy series titled “Looking Up”.  There are some today who seek meaning in their dreams, wondering if it will come true or if there is some hidden message they are to receive from it.  The dream we’re about to look at does have meaning and purpose, especially as it relates to prophetic events.

Today we embark on a two week look at bible prophecy, and how it relates to the events we see unfolding around us in the year 2022. Everything the bible says would happen has happened, so we can be confident that the future events it predicts will indeed happen.

How much does God love us - to what depths will He descend to reach us with his love?  We have a picture of God’s love in the Book of Ruth. There was a law in Israel that allowed from someone along with their property to be redeemed. This law of the kinsman redeemer had certain elements that had to be met for there to be redemption. This law is applied by Boaz to redeem Ruth.

Jesus Christ has redeemed us and will return to take us to be with Him forever. In His glorious kingdom we will be ruling and reigning with him. No more suffering, sorrow, pain or even death! That’s a happy ending and what we’ll talk about today on Bridging the Gap . 

The book of Ruth is a very special love story. But the love that’s on display is not merely a romantic love - it’s much deeper. It’s a picture of the love Jesus has for His bride the Church. And the Church’s response to Jesus. So it’s a love that is available for us today.

The Book of Ruth is a classic love story that’s even been made into a movie. It truly is one of the most loved books in the bible, and it’s one we can learn a great deal from. Let’s do that now. 

The book of Ruth recounts how God used a man named Boaz to provide for Ruth... And this woman named Ruth to provide for Naomi.  We’ll learn today on Bridging the Gap  that God’s provision is far more than the material and far more reaching than the immediate. God truly does exceedingly - abundantly - above all that we could ask or imagine! 

Today on the program we’ll be looking at God’s redeeming plan for our lives, as seen through the story of Ruth.  This book offers a beautiful portrait of redemption as we’ll soon see.  Ruth and Boaz are much more than a couple of people who fell in love at first sight. Their story reminds us all that God has an amazing plan for our lives, even when we feel like we’re at a low point.

When we go through a great loss, there can be a tendency within us to turn bitter, and Naomi did at first. But she turned back to God.  Today we’re going to lift our eyes above the difficult circumstances, and see God’s bigger picture.  I think you’ll find this greatly encouraging, for those inevitable hard times we all face.  And just maybe you can relate to Naomi on some level today? 

Today we begin a new series in the beloved book of Ruth. We can all remember times where we have felt at the end of our rope, and discouraged by what’s going on around us.  In Ruth, we find a woman named Naomi who lost all she had in her life. All those that were important to her had perished. Except one, a daughter-in-law who later continued the line of David, Solomon, and Jesus. It’s a story of faith, loyalty and great romance.

Today the plan is to finish up our study of Judges, and we do so with encouragement to be salt and light in a dark world.  Everyone did what was right in their own eyes, and there was no king in Israel.  That statement in a nutshell describes the problem we find in final chapters in Judges.  And clearly it describes what’s going on in our world today too. 

Today pastor Lloyd Pulley gives attention to Judges nineteen. In the days we’re about to read about, there were a great number of people claiming to be a follower of God, but they were doing what was right in their own eyes.  They weren’t following the commands of God.  We see that happening right before our very eyes don’t we?  

 In Judges chapter seventeen it was a time of national disintegration where every man was doing right in his own eyes. Sound familiar? How does one live in a world of moral relevancy? Let’s join pastor Lloyd in Judges seventeen, verse twenty where we will find some answers.

Today we visit the seventeenth chapter of Judges.  It’s here that we see that Israel had forgotten who they were, and were trying to fill the gap in their lives with idolatry. Pastor Lloyd will show us that this mentality is common among people today.

We’ve been looking at one of the most notorious me in the bible - Samson. Sure, we’ve all heard about his hair and his incredible strength. But, we’ve also been learning that there’s much more to this man than we may have initially thought. We all know that what goes up must come down - and that was especially true for Samson

One of the more curious and interesting people in the Bible is Samson. I think “notorious” would be a good word as well. But I think we’d all be surprised to see just how much we have in common with this famous Biblical character. He was extremely flawed, yet God chose to use him in a big way.
