Bridging The Gap

Do you ever stop and consider your life and try to figure out what’s the guiding force that you follow? That’s an important question, because way too may people today are allowing g their fleshly desires to rule them. It’s a disastrous way to live. Letting the grace of God reign over your life is what being a Christian is all about.

If we continue to sin even after becoming Christians, why bother becoming one? That question will be answered today on Bridging the Gap, as we continue pastor Lloyd Pulley’s series titled “Essential Christianity”, with a stop in Romans six. 

 Our current series is titled “Essential Christianity”, and our scripture focus is on Romans chapters five through eight. In chapter six, we see that we can either be yielded to sin or yielded to God.  There is no middle ground, and the choice is ours.

Pastor Lloyd Pulley has been leading us in a series called “Essential Christianity”, as we look at Romans chapters five through eight. After completing chapter five last time, we begin a study in chapter six today, so open your bible and join us, for a message titled “Dead to Sin, Alive unto God”. 

Our series titled “Essential Christianity”, resumes today, as we take a final look at Romans chapter five.  This section of God’s word has been studied, analyzed and preached millions of times over the last two thousand years, because it contains some of the most encouraging worlds in all of scripture. It deals with God’s wonderful grace - a grace that saves us from eternal punishment for our sins.

Recently, we’ve identified quite a number of benefits that go along with being a Christian.  From peace with God, access to God, and hope in God, to joy in the midst of suffering.  Today,  pastor Lloyd will remind us of the difference between the law and grace - and how the grace of God should reign in the life of a Christian. 

The freedom we enjoy as Christians should be a source of great joy. Freedom from what, you ask? Condemnation, for one thing. We call ourselves born-again Christians, but we still have a sin nature that is lethal without the saving blood of Jesus Christ.

Being justified in Christ carries with it many blessings, one of which is freedom. How we choose to exercise that freedom speaks volumes about our character and walk with the Lord. That freedom is not a get-out-of-jail-free card for sinful behavior.  Join us now in Romans five, as pastor Lloyd gets us started with today’s message from his series called “Essential Christianity”.

Today we continue Lloyd’s brand new series titled “Essential Christianity”. It’s a sad fact that there are many people feeling a bit lost and hopeless as we approach the end of 2024. Are you one of those people? One of the most wonderful aspects of having a relationship with Jesus Christ is the enduring and reliable hope we have in our salvation. Our destiny in heaven is a great thing to lean on when times get tough. That’s what Lloyd is talking about today as we bring you part two of the first message in our new series

On today’s program, we begin a new series from pastor Lloyd, titled “Essential Christianity”. The scripture we are going to study in this series is Romans, chapters five through eight. The book of Romans has been hailed by many biblical scholars as the most important book in the bible. It’s been called the “Magna Carta” of Christianity. Those are some pretty lofty descriptions, but as we go through this series, I think you’ll agree that Paul’s words to the Roman church are amazing, challenging, and inspiring. Let’s begin in chapter five, verse one, with a message pastor Lloyd has titled "The Origin, Development & Endurance of Our Hope”.

On today’s program we wrap up pastor Lloyd’s ten message series called “Christian Growth and Development”. This series has taken us down a challenging road of biblical truths in several important areas, like prayer, discipleship, fellowship and marriage. Today pastor Lloyd will bring the series to a close by once again sharing some insights and encouragement about the culture in which we live. 

Today on Bridging the Gap we begin the final message in pastor Lloyd Pulley’s series called “Christian Growth and Development”. We’re going to look at the culture in which we live, and what we can do to stem the tidal wave of sin that’s taking us down the proverbial drain. It may seem like an undoable thing, but we can make a difference! 

As Christians, we are called to serve. We are called to serve one another, and those around us, as representatives of Jesus Christ. In a lot of cultures, being a servant is something to be looked down on, but that isn’t the case in the kingdom of God.

Pastor Lloyd Pulley will begin our study in just a moment as we continue with Lloyd’s new series called “Christian Growth and Development”. We will be looking at several scriptures today, beginning with First Thessalonians chapter five. This section of Scripture contains instruction about life in the church. Paul’s words are very practical, basic, and as we are about to see, very straightforward.  We’re talking about how we’re to live and relate and to serve each other in the church.

Today we’ll again be in the fifth chapter of Ephesians for a look at marriage relationships. This message is part of a ten message series from Pastor Lloyd titled “Christian Growth and Development”. It’s been pointed out before that God says very little in the Bible specifically about marriage. The reason is that if we incorporate the rest of God’s word into our marriages, then we really don’t need a whole lot more to go on!

Today on Bridging the Gap, pastor Lloyd Pulley continues his series on Christian Growth and Development as we look to Ephesians chapter five, verses thirty one through thirty three. This portion of the series has a particular focus on the roles that God has ordained for husbands and wives in marriage. God is the designer of marriage, and despite what the world is trying to do, God knows the best operating procedures.

Today pastor Lloyd will continue his series titled “Christian Growth and Development”, as we once again look at the Lord’s instruction to “love our neighbor as ourselves”. It’s a tough road to hoe for sinful man, but it’s a goal well worth striving for.

 What does it really mean to “love” someone? We certainly have some examples on TV and at the movie theater of what love isn’t. But if we want to find out what love really is, we need only go to God’s word. We’ll be looking today at the Lord’s commandment to “Love your neighbor as yourself”. It’s one of the toughest things for us selfish humans to do.

Today on Bridging the Gap, pastor Lloyd Pulley will again share with us the importance of Christian fellowship. The common thread of a relationship with Jesus Christ creates a wonderful atmosphere that can really make for close, lasting relationships. Our current series is called “Christian Growth and Development”. 

God’s intention for Fellowship is the topic today as pastor Lloyd continues his new series “Christian Growth and Development”. If we are to truly grow and develop as believers in Christ, then belonging to a fellowship of Christian brothers and sisters will greatly enhance our walk.
