The Travel Brigade Radio Show takes you to Chicago, a metropolis with so many different things to do you’ll always find something everyone in your family will enjoy. Whether it’s parents, kids or that most difficult of travel groups to please - teens - the entire group will love the Windy City. In this first part of a two part episode, will have interviews focusing on Sky Deck at Willis Tower and the Chicago Architecture River Cruise. In Winnipeg, they don’t hibernate in the Canadian winter, they get out and enjoy it. With winter here in full force, it’s time to hit the slopes at the top of the Swiss Alps as Travel Brigade visits the town of Engelberg, Switzerland, and heads 10,000 feet up to the top of Mount Titlis on the 360-degree-rotating Rotair tram. The mountain is so high there is a glacier on top year-round and we’ll tell you how you can walk through an ice cave and take the “Cliff Walk” suspension bridge that offers incredible views across the top of the Alps. We’ll talk about amazing skiing in the winter as well as great year round activities on the mountain. You’ll also get a taste of the classic Swiss experience of walking through a mountain meadow while listening to the cow bells ringing on your way to a traditional swiss meal of Alplermagronen. This festival in the area where Hemingway once lived, features history, celebrations and more ways than you could ever think of to cook lamb as chefs from around the area fill the festival with their dishes. We’ll also take in the Championship Sheepdog Trials where border collies show off their herding skills. The poet and author Dylan Thomas captured the essence and character of the country of Wales with his writings. Come with Travel Brigade on a Welsh journey as the country celebrates the 100th anniversary of Thomas' birth. We'll take you to the Dylan Thomas Centre in Swansea and head off to the town of Laugharne to visit the pub where Thomas could often be found enjoying a pint and the beautiful boathouse where he lived that his now a museum.
