Coodabeens Saturday Soiree

It is 25 years since Derek Kickett kicked 8 goals for the Bombers in a game - a month later, he was dropped for what ended up being a premiership team. Derek joined the show today.

It was a damp day at Coodabeens HQ but hopefully Warwick Irwin, Angela Foley and Gavin Doig helped keep you dry.

Grand Final day 2012. Alex Johnson played in a premiership for the Swans. His dad, Graeme joined us on the day. This weekend, he plays his next game. His dad joined us again to talk through the moment.

It's been 25 years since 1993 - long enough ago to judge whether it was the greatest season of all time? (The Coodabeens had been around for 12 years by that stage...though it may feel like we've been around forever!)

350 games for St Kilda - not a bad effort! But we're not talking about Robert Harvey, it's Belinda Bowey who plays her 350th for the St Kilda City Sharks this weekend. Also joining the show, Kelvin Templeton former Dog superstar and Demon.

We're almost at the half way point of the 2018 footy season and my how it's flown! The Coodabeens were joined by a country footballer who flies from Katherine to Mildura every weekend to play! And former Crow cult hero, Wayne Wiedemann.

Ask any footballer and they'll tell you it's hard enough playing one game, but 600? Trevor Field from Avoca plays game 600 today. Also joining the show- AFLW pioneer Meg Hutchins and former Cat and Tiger, Gareth Andrews.

Every season up we go ...! It is Queen's Birthday weekend, and we were joined by former Dee and Pie, Peter Moore.

It was Clive day on the Coodabeens! A favourite of the show since the Dockers' early years, Clive Waterhouse embodied the fun style of Fremantle footy (a mantle that was taken by Shauny McManus into the 2000s!).

It was all-bush in the first hour - to Werrimul and with Paul Daffey, and then a chat with former Roy, Bill Lokan after the news.

Up to the snow - to Omeo, and to ol' Moorabbin thanks to producer Chris. Earl Spalding joined the show in the second hour to reminisce on his Demons and Blues days.

Footy is a winter game, and the Coodabeens came to play on a wintry Saturday. Adam White, ex-Carlton joined the show to chat about the day he was knocked out by an umpire!

Back with a full contingent and the Coodabeens were firing. Old friend Lisa Williams is the new captain of the Essendon VFLW team and joined the show as did former Roo and dad of Demon Charlie, Paul Spargo. And Sergio Bjelke Petersen got a mention as well ...

The team were sans Billy Baxter in studio this morning, but they were still able to create the overlap and score seemingly at will. Drew Petrie is a special guest, there's also a new women's masters footy comp and the discovery of a historical Aussie Rules/gridiron hybrid game called Austus.

Champs was back in town with a full swag of top tunes along with former Swan Daryn Cresswell, Keryn Ralph from our friends at the St Kilda Sharks, Ex-Magpie champ Craig Stewart and doyen of sports writing, Martin Flanagan
