In a world where more is a possibility, we need to learn how to handle our own successes. Ecclesiastes 5:10 says, “Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income.”

There is a satisfaction that cannot be bought at a store or parked in our driveway. Jesus said, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied." Matthew 5:6 (ESV)

"As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God." 2 Timothy 4:6

Sadly, Elijah has wandered into the "valley of the shadow of death." Worse, he isn't sure if God will or can come through. He isn't looking for a way out... he is looking for a place to die.

Fear mongering is a type of psychological warfare. Our enemies will try to manipulate us and change our behavior by creating fear, uncertainty, and anxiety.

"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver." Proverbs 25:11 There are no other words more fitly spoken than the Word of God

Like the British, we need to "mind the gap". Whenever a gap exists between what we believe or do and the Word of God, it is worth paying attention to.
